Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 2 - The Charlie Gehringer version

Would like an insurance run or two after Papa threw 35 pitches yesterday.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 2 - The Charlie Gehringer version

I was fine with the fences before they got moved in. I like big ballparks. Lynn Henning thinks anyone who hits a ball farther that about 375 feet is entitled to at least 3 runs, regardless of who is on base. Never mind the fact that Tiger Stadium was listed as 440 to dead center, 20 feet further than what we have here (Joe Falls later allegedly measured the distance at 426). This also the same d-nozzle that thought Jhonny Peralta should have been released in spring training, because his bat was a bit slow, 10 days into camp.

I gotta give it to the Yankees there. That took balls of titanium.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 2 - The Charlie Gehringer version

Every ****ing reliever wearing a D always has to Jones it.

5-4 final.

Good Lord.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 2 - The Charlie Gehringer version

A win is a win. Give it up for Inge, Peralta and Santiago- big contributions, while AzzRod and Tex-shara are a combined 1-22 I think. Now if Porcello can pitch the game of his life and the Tigers can get to AJ Burnett....

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 2 - The Charlie Gehringer version

The Tigers' three most important hitters last night were Brandon Inge, Ramon Santiago and Delmon Young. Stop the world, I want to get off.

And Hammer, if the ghost of Cobb were hanging around, he would have been out in center trying to spike Austin Jackson.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 2 - The Charlie Gehringer version

Don Kelly is hitting in front of Peralta in tonight's lineup. :/

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 2 - The Charlie Gehringer version

Time to see if Leyland is ****ting gold this post-season. Let's go Don.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 2 - The Charlie Gehringer version

****.

We had a kill shot on Burnett and left the bases juiced. An inch higher and we had 3 runs.

****.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 2 - The Charlie Gehringer version

Apparently having a drink with Norm Cash.

EDIT: And yes, Norm Cash will be Volume 25, if we ever get that far.
