Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 2 - The Charlie Gehringer version

Folks, this is why when you get the bases loaded early on, you don't play dickey-dick with the bat in your hand and come away with nothing. You gotta put something on the board.

Jeter burns the Tigers with a 2-run double.

Apparently having a drink with Norm Cash.

EDIT: And yes, Norm Cash will be Volume 25, if we ever get that far.

We have a family friend who was named after Norm Cash. He now writes for MLB.com.

2-1 Yankees, bottom 4

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 2 - The Charlie Gehringer version

I was going to gripe about wanting a hit, at least, but I'll take both.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 2 - The Charlie Gehringer version

That was a sorry at bat out of Betemit.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 2 - The Charlie Gehringer version

Get Inge in there. And am I the only one who thinks Avila is getting some questionable strike calls against him?

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 2 - The Charlie Gehringer version

Let's just keep leaving RISP. Nothing can go wrong from this.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 2 - The Charlie Gehringer version

Nice play Rick...now never do that again.

Last night the strike zone was the size of a nickel. Tonight the strike zone ended up in a time machine set to June 1966.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 2 - The Charlie Gehringer version

He keeps throwing sinkers up there and this is going to look like Game 1 in a hurry.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 2 - The Charlie Gehringer version

That play probably killed us, for at least tonight.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 2 - The Charlie Gehringer version

Second excellent catch by Granderson.

Edit: yeah, Granderson saved the Yanks tonight.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 2 - The Charlie Gehringer version

Way to get one run and four hits off the East Coast version of Brad Penny, kids.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 2 - The Charlie Gehringer version

Yankee fan here:o. Hard to believe Yanks ahead with an AJ Burnout start and the big guns taking their usual O fers. Well almost now that A Rod actually got a hit.

Re: Detroit Tigers, Volume 2 - The Charlie Gehringer version

It is increasingly apparent that tonight is not the night. A balk....really. Ugh.
