At this point I'd be thrilled with a split. Virtually all hope this season went out the window the instant Magglio's ankle went "pop". It's not inconceivable that they could come into Labor Day 10 games under .500. They're out of productive bats, and they're starting to scrape the bottom of the farm system. There's a ton of rookies on this team already, and another one on the way if Worth goes on the DL. I don't care which franchise we're talking about, you can't contend with 4-6 rookies in the lineup everyday, and that's not even taking into effect what's in the bullpen.

Jeff Frazier is batting third this afternoon. Yikes.

Inge took BP today, but I don't know how much of an upgrade getting him back would be.

Well, I'd rather have him hitting 3rd than Raburn or Don Kelly.

4-0 White Sox. Porcello crapped his Huggies immediately after allowing a baserunner. We might see Brokeback Bonine in the 4th. Nothing like adding gas to a fire. :rolleyes:

Let's see just how well our crackerjack hitting coach has the bottom half of the order prepared for this game. Do we go 1-2-3 in 5 pitches or 8?

I had to run out of the office at 5-1, and I came back to 7-1. I didn't even turn it back on. I know that most DH's end up as a split, but I don't have much hope of getting tonight's game.

Porcello was putrid with runners on base until it got to 5-1, and I wasn't around to hear about what happened after that. I know we've got huge issues with the lineup, but outside of Verlander and Scherzer, I don't have a helluva lot of confidence in our rotation, either. Bonderman can barely button his shirt correctly, let alone pitch consistently. Galarraga has been somewhere between ****-poor and horrid since his Game, and Porcello turns out clunkers like this on a semi-regular basis.

I couldn't help it. I had to turn it back on. The gawking at a train wreck effect, I guess.

I don't blame Leyland for this one. Someone's gotta get batters out, plain and simple. If they can't, they can take an assbeating.

I do realize that at 11-1 the slapdickiness is going to push an all-time high. But Mickey Lolich does not belong in the Hall of Fame.
