An hour before today's game, Leyland had Jackson and Cabrera penciled into the lineup, and the rest of the spots blank, pending Peralta's arrival. I would have erased Jackson's name and just handed it in.

Well, someone's got to be on base if Cabrera tries to hit one into the ocean. And yes, I know they're playing indoors.

It's time to move Boesch in the lineup. It's going to crush this kid if they keep putting him in position to fail like this.

I'd sit him for about 3 days, just to clear his head. It seemed to work with Jackson at the All Star break. I think pitchers have adjusted to him and his head is swimming a bit.

Three strikeouts for Cabrera and two different plays where he deflected balls,but couldn't make the play to allow runs to score. In a day game. Makes you wonder.

And the Rays would still rather intentionally walk the go-ahead run into scoring position to face Boesch.

Bad day. Until I see something that makes me think otherwise, he's earned the benefit of the doubt for his performance this season. He's probably pressing, too.
And the Rays would still rather intentionally walk the go-ahead run into scoring position to face Boesch.

It feels more like arranging deck chairs on the Titanic. I can't blame the rookies, since in all honesty none of them were really on the radar for being an every-day position player in the majors (except Jackson).

Well, once Boesch clears his head and makes an adjustment he should be fine. Worth might be ready by the end of the year. Other than that...........

Bringing up a 27 year old career minor leaguer that was once a prospect just reeks of desperation, though.

Way things have been going lately, probably all of the Tigers have been pressing. We just might have to accept the fact that they're going to slide, and there's not much we can really do about that right now. Once we get over that, they should come back around to playing better ball.

Bases loaded and 2 out with Gump at the plate. Yeah, I think we knew how that one was going to end. 7 hits in 3 innings and only 2 on the board. This is going to come back and bite us tonight.

Oh, and initial impressions of Jeff Frazier? Frankly, he looks like a 27 year old career minor leaguer.
