Ah, yes, there's the King Jeremy the Roundhead that we all know.

DAMON!!!

7-3, bottom 5. Pressure busts pipes.

Let's see how long the roundhead can hang on to this lead.

Best part of the afternoon was the Tigers having about a 30-minute half-inning while Al Kaline was in the booth. That was a real treat.

Holy crap. Santiago saved our butts twice that inning.

2-0 Twins, mid 3.

Re: Detroit Tigers 2010: Streaker is going to buy me some beer

Is it just me, or does Pavano seem to own our collective arses?

It's the 'stache.

The rest of the team needs to ask Miguel for advice, though, from what I heard on the broadcast today. Seems he owns whoever is pitching for the Twins (and it's not limited to just the Twins, but still...)

At the Break, and we're 1/2 game behind...........the White Sox?!?!?

Grades will be out sometime in the next couple days.

The Sox's can't stay as hot as they've been the past month. We're in the hunt without a lot of ground to make up right now. Can't ask for much more than that at the All Star Break.

Yeah, they're 25-5 in the last 30. Plus they've lost Peavy for the year. If I had to guess, out of the three contenders in the AL Central, they're probably the most likely to make a move for a starting pitcher before the end of the month.

To put that in perspective, the 1984 Tigers started 26-4 on their way to 35-5.

Aside from the four game series in Minnesota the White Sox have nothing but the A's and the M's for the rest of July.

Things get a little tougher later in the month, but I'm not exactly quaking in my boots over the Tigers' next seven: four in Cleveland and three at home against Texas, who we own.

Edit: if Minnesota's upcoming stretch of 3 vs. Cleveland, 4 at Baltimore, 3 in KC and 3 vs. Seattle doesn't wake it up, nothing can.

I thought I heard Rod Allen say that the Tigers play Chicago 14 more times and the Twins play Chicago 13 more times. Plenty of opportunity to make a move on both teams.

This guy is not off to a good start at the News.

Yeah, that's the same guy that wrote the moronic "Twins are better because they had more fans show up to their stadium on a certain day" article. That's two straight that have been Bleacher Report quality. Just painful.

The only positive is the Detroit News is apparently still hiring people. I'm kind of surprised the Detroit News still exists at all.

This guy makes Rob Parker look like Grantland Rice.

Well, Jay Sborz went through an inning in the AAA All Star game without hitting anyone or giving up 8 runs. Progress, I suppose.

Oh, and a nice moment in the game. MLB Network interviewed a player (I forget which one, but I think he's a pitcher) in the Pittsburgh organization that had just been taken out of the game an inning early and was told that he was being called up to the majors. He just turned 30 and it's going to be his first trip to the show. Awesome.

Kind of a farce to have Galarraga and Joyce doing the Espys together isn't it?

Re: Detroit Tigers 2010: Streaker is going to buy me some beer

It's an ESPN production, and other than the minor league All Star Game, I've had the TV off.

Re: Detroit Tigers 2010: Streaker is going to buy me some beer

The race is on.
The Twins have the easiest schedule in the majors, the Sox have a hot streak, and the Tigers have 3 hitters.
I'm thinking Porcello could be the key to the division title.
