No thank you. I'm not ready to give up on a 21 year old former 1st round pick that turned in a rookie season like his. Not for a soon-to-be 30 year old.

I suppose you're right. It maybe gives them a better shot at the division this year, but they're probably still better off building for two or three years from now.
Also, the infatuation is because Roy Oswalt refused to go to Detroit.

I think this team is set up pretty well for 2011, and especially for 2012 and 2013, IF the prospects in the farm system continue to develop according to plan, reasonably speaking.

Because we have to play them so often. Oh, and by the way, interleague play is evil. /jimprice
Frankly, I'd rather have a solid middle of the bullpen bridge guy. Especially if we make the playoffs, who our fourth or fifth starter is won't matter a ton. Unfortunately, the Padres are still in it or I'd recommend the likes of Luke Gregerson (a very pleasant surprise in the holds category for my fantasy team).
Then again, this is a guy that once vehemently argued for the acquisition of Garrett Atkins, who I think was DFAed by the Orioles last month, for Brandon Inge.

He tried, but Minnesota valiantly did what they do best with the bases loaded: make outs while not scoring runs.
