Detroit Lions 2009: May the Schwartz be with us.

Re: Detroit Lions 2009: May the Schwartz be with us.

I'll go with 4 wins. They'll beat a team they shouldn't, and win the rest against other really bad teams.

BTW, wasn't Washington the team that knocked the Lions out of the playoffs during the fluke 12-4 season?

If you mean in 1991, I think, yes, in the NFC Championship game in DC.

That team was legitimately good, the Redskins were on another planet that season.

Re: Detroit Lions 2009: May the Schwartz be with us.

Washington beat us twice that season at RFK, once to open the season and once to close it. The first game was a Sunday nighter that would up 45-0, and I think the NFC title game was 41-14 or so.

Re: Detroit Lions 2009: May the Schwartz be with us.

Surprisingly the Lions only have 4,000 tickets left to sell to prevent a blackout. I thought for sure they'd need about 15,000 more to sell at this point.

I think the all you can eat section gimmick is working.

Does that mean people will start taking up two seats?

Re: Detroit Lions 2009: May the Schwartz be with us.

Just in time for the buy one, get one free promotions.

With enough all you can eat promos, they will HAVE to buy two tickets.

So 1/2 the fans, full stadium, and the rest of us grow on our own couches. :p

It's not like we are Minny, here- we are the fattest in the rust belt! Be proud!

How did we get so far off topic?

Re: Detroit Lions 2009: May the Schwartz be with us.

It's the Lions thread. That's enough reason to take this thing off topic.

DUI doesn't even begin to describe it. He passed out behind the wheel of his car and was so unresponsive that firefighters had to climb into his car through the sunroof to get him out........at 2 o'clock in the afternoon on a Wednesday.

EDIT: Also probably a minor detail but one I find funny: the car he was in was the one he bought the day he was drafted by the Lions.

As of 10:00am there are 1,500 tickets left for the Lions to sellout.

The NFL has given them an extention until 1pm today to have the blackout lifted.

It looks like we will get to watch this game after all!

That's like being excited to get punched in the kidney.

Re: Detroit Lions 2009: May the Schwartz be with us.

I actually think the Lions are going to win this game. I thought they played better than anyone expected on the road against New Orleans. If we can hold AP to under 100 yards I like our chances.

So you were under the impression that people expected the Lions to give up nine passing TD's to Brees?
