Denver Pioneers visit the MN Golden Gophers Oct 23-24

Re: Denver Pioneers visit the MN Golden Gophers Oct 23-24

I know what HIPAA is. Just seems odd that if the player says "Hey I hurt my whatever" to the team that its then still private information. Seems it would then be public.

I'm having a hard time finding something now but they talked a lot about it a couple of years ago. Maybe someone else has more about sports, NCAA, and the privacy laws in specific.

I wonder how this compares to say any of the pro leagues (except the NHL) where unless Bill Belichek is involved injuries aren't hidden all that much.

Well, the NFL for sure has an injury report and it's a league rule. They have to have that for Las Vegas, etc. :D

I don't think whatever rule you think is in effect actually exists. Coaches talk about their players' injuries all the time. Hell, Michigan football issues a weekly press release with players' injuries.

Yeah, I think I stand corrected. Doesn't change the fact that college injuries aren't disclosed the way they used to be. I thought for sure a couple of years ago things had changed somewhere but I cannot find it.

DU 3-0, another shutout. Interview with Lucia: "We have to work to get better. They care, they try and we'll see some progress this week (at practice)...We are seeing some adversity, now how do you respond to it?"

1929-30 is the last season the Gophers have lost two shutouts at home in a row. The Gophers are now 0-20 on the PP.

Yes, congrats to the Pioneers. You guys came into our home arena and absolutely beat the **** out of us. I am embarrassed, but we lost to a great team. As I said last night, Cheverie is outstanding. Good luck to you guys the rest of the year (since we don't play you again- Thank God). Beat the Sue.

The Gophers will get past this.

I'm not so sure. This has been in the making for a while and I think it's going to take years for the right players to be in place again.

I hope I'm wrong.

I have hidden all sharp and semi-sharp objects. Also have removed any flame-starting objects from Chez Rube. I have dialed 6 digits to the Suicide Hotline. That seventh digit depends on next Friday's game.......

Congrats DU. Hope you get your "just desevrings" at the F5, courtesy of us.

Schroeder was awesome at the World Juniors last year w/o Stoa so its not that. Maybe he has the flu, maybe he's dinged up. He's a great player.

Great weekend for DU and a rough one for the Gophers. Good luck the rest of the way.

Scooby is on the right track. WCHA championships are won on the recruiting trail.
