I don’t think he’s nervous about the policies. I get the impression he’s nervous about the electorate not being ready. His point about Pete and Amy combining to trounce Sanders isn’t one to be discarded so easily.

You're not in because you're not a Leftist. The only reason you are even remotely interested in the Dems now is you are also not a Fascist. But you would be most comfortable with a "Dem" who was really a center-right 1978 Republican and (a) Evan Bayh is not walking through that door, and (b) nor should he.

We are a liberal party. We have center-Lefties like Rover and solid-Lefties like dx and lunatic-Lefties like trix and then me a few standard deviations even farther Left. But we are liberal. You aren't. So you're gonna HATE our nominee and if you don't we're not doing our job right.

Vote for us to save the world from apocalypse. It's very simple. Whoever we pick is going to look like a Bolshevik to you because you fell for that Randian market-driven entrepreneurial bullsh-t the Kochs poisoned America with for forty years. But suck it up Buttercup and vote for us because the alternative is fiery death.

Matthews is a classic Tip O'Neill Democrat. "Boy the week Glenn Miller played." He's a rich man who doesn't want rich people taxed too high. He still believes the American dream isn't garbage because he lived it, forgetting that (a) his experience is out of date by 50 years and (b) even when his experiences was happening it was denied anybody who wasn't a white male. But he is a true liberal, in the sense of anti-socialist, anti-big change. Chris Matthews is the kind of guy who would say "well, gay marriage is too far" until it was already happening. He's a safe, smug, comfortable guy who won't risk anything because, in the final analysis, he and his are OK.

I will not be cowed into something I don't believe in (Sanders). I will also choose a person that is going against what we have in office. Overall, for the moment, that happens to be Pete/Amy. Any combination of the two, or one of the two.

In fact, I won't be cowed into anything, and anyone who is trying to do that is just as bad as Trump, IMO. VOTE US OR YOU ARE SCUM! Huh, sound familiar?

Some of us are just fckin nerds who side with policy wonks. I tend to side with the wonks, and am very skeptical of rhetoric. I think very little in this country will ever change, American nature being what it is.

Nobody's asking you to believe anything. You won't believe in it and it doesn't matter. What I said is you're going to vote with us because allowing Dump another four years will end democracy in the United States forever or precipitate an actual civil war.

It's not that you're scum if you don't vote to take Dump out. It's that you're silly. I assume you love somebody, or at least you love your own wrinkled as-s. So you'll vote to save it because this is what happens to countries that become "great" again the way the GOP means the term:

JFC, jj can you learn to use the IMG tags with h/w modifiers? 800x600 or less would be a good start. :p
