Death to the Incumbent! Part Two: Now with more Death.

Re: Death to the Incumbent! Part Two: Now with more Death.

Hmm.. So Fox News can let their people contribute to campaigns, but Keith can't. Sounds a little like a double standard. I don't think anyone employed by a station should be contributing money to campaigns. Makes me glad I get BBC America and watch the news off of there. I wish BBC News 24 would be added over here so I wouldn't have to deal with MSNBC, Fox and CNN.

Re: Death to the Incumbent! Part Two: Now with more Death.

This Olbermann news is terrible. Here's how it works:

O'Reilly: Meatbag
Beck: Meatbag, though quasi-entertaining when viewed with the right frame of mind
Hannity: Meatbag
Maddow: Meatbag
Schultz: Meatbag
That sniveling little guy who sits in for Maddow and tries to copy her vocal inflections: Meatbag

Olbermann? Guy is in a league of his own. It's not often you can find such random misdirected anger combined with the overwhelming bitterness that is derivative of his small ***** complex all in one place. The loss of Olbermann would truly be a crippling blow to the entertainment industry and one I'm not sure I could handle. The Onion is pretty solid, but it's no Keith...as KO actually believes himself - and there is no higher form of hilarity.

Re: Death to the Incumbent! Part Two: Now with more Death.

I'm not saying it's not suspicious...but considering many poll workers are retirees like my dad (who's worked at the local polling place for at least 10 years now and is now a site supervisor or some **** like that)..well, it wouldn't shock me if one year my dad put the ballots in his car to take to some central collection point and simply drove home on autopilot by mistake. Thankfully he hasn't done that yet, but he's also not getting any younger.

So in a country with however many thousands of polling stations across the country, it doesn't suprise me when this happens a couple times every election.

Sure, that's plausible. However, this isn't the only thing to happen in Bridgeport this election.

First, they run out of ballots and have to photocopy some more. Then, they miss the deadline to report results. Then, on Thursday this bag of ballots mysteriously appears. Also, the Republican is doing much much worse than the Republican did in 06, while the Democrat is overperforming by 60%. In a Republican year, that seems fishy.

Now, it's dangerous to assume conspiracies or anything when flat out incompetence may be just as good an explanation, but at the least I think a bunch of people need to be fired.

Are you daft? He wasn't suspended because he gave money. He was suspended because he gave money but didn't tell his superiors before hand. I don't like it but to act outraged as if it's a left/right deal is simply misguided.

I have no problem with Olbermann being let go. Its a corporate decision based on what's best for the organization.

But others sure seem to be taking Olbermann in stride. What happened to 'free speech' and it being 'inappropriate' for being let go due to political leanings and 'what people do in their spare time'?

There's a handful of Juan Williams posts that I'd love to respond with if I had the time/interest.

*sigh*... HE WASN'T SUSPENDED BECAUSE OF HIS POLITICAL LEANINGS. HE WAS SUSPENDED BECAUSE HE DIDN'T INFORM MANAGEMENT.

How clear do I have to be?

He wasn't even let go, it's just a suspension. With the ratings he pulls in (comparatively), I think NBC will have to bring him back. Also, it's absolutely nothing like the Juan Williams situation.

I don't know if that's true, but given that Fox News was created explicitly as a propaganda tool for the GOP, it wouldn't be a surprise.

Hannity gave $5,000 to Bachmann this year. But again, bringing Fox up would only be valid if this was some sort of broad issue. It's not. It's an internal NBC policy.

Touching. Rachel wraps her big, tattooed guns around poor little Keith. What was it Woody Woodpecker used to say: "ha ha ha HA ha, ha ha ha HA ha, ha ha ha ha ha ha ha

Bonus: who did Woody's voice?

Why do people find it so funny she is gay? Every mention of her always seems to have some quasi-lesbian remark...it is really that interesting?

And no surprise she defended him, he was one of the big reasons she has a job at MSNBC if I remember correctly.

Lose the snark rachel. It's why your ratings are worse than gopher hockey.

Move along, nothing to see here.
