Death to the Incumbent! Part Two: Now with more Death.

Re: Death to the Incumbent! Part Two: Now with more Death.

It looks like Dayton will win the MN gubernitorial election.

How is Alan Page winning for MN State Supreme Court? Can it be anything other than name recognition as a Viking? Last I looked, he's got about 66% of the vote. Prior to his first term he had virtually no law experience, graduating from law school right around 2000.
Actually, it was 1978.
He was elected to the MN. SC in 1992, then re-elected in 1998 and 2004. He spoke at William Mitchell School of Law when I was going to night Law school there, and I thought he was extremely qualified to be a SC judge.

And, yes, it's two things - Name recognition, and he's reliably left-wing.

55% reported in Nevada. Reid 52- Angle 44. Uh oh.

Angle is probably the least deserving Senate candidate on the ballots this year who isn't named Alvin Green.

In other news Boehner is crying about his life story. A TPartier he ain't.

1. Thanks for trying to raise my taxes. You gave it the "good o'l college try." Unfortunately I know enough of the US Tax Code to be dangerous so good luck collecting.
2. Thanks for raising my employers taxes. Awesome forward thinking by you. Again, jokes on you because when the profits fall and the stock price declines, the jobs will leave, the majority holders will sell for a loss and you will be left with nothing. Enjoy.

In closing remember this: "Government that is big enough to give you everything you want is big enough to take away everything you have."

Yeah, she's kind of mess. I (and most polls) figured hatred of Harry would carry her to a win.

That Boehner speech was bizarre wasn't it?

I still can't believe any thinking person of any political persuasion could vote for Barney Frank. "Financial crisis" ring a bell, Massachusetts? Mortage meltdown? TARP?
anything? no?
We're talking about Massachusetts here Geezer, don't forget that ;)

I didnt vote for Dayton, I hate Dayton to be honest but I would chose him any day of the week and twice on Sunday over Emmer. The MNGOP screwed up royally letting that guy get the nod. Nothing quite like putting up a nimrod who is not only dumb enough to get a couple DUIs (and wanted to lower penalties on them or at least let himself be quoted as such) but who honestly believed a couple of waitresses and bartenders in St. Paul (at the Eagle Street) made nearly a million dollars in tips and used that as a justification for why service workers like me should get our wages cut. The guy was not fit to be the head of a school board let alone the State of Minnesota.

Re: Death to the Incumbent! Part Two: Now with more Death.

Speculation on the right is that the GOP will "functionally" control the Senate. They won't have the majority, but with more Dems up for re-election in '12, some of them will be pressured into voting with the GOP's interests (at least some of the time) to retain their seats. Thoughts?

I'll be sure to stop back tomorrow to check in on Rover and Kepler to see that they're still upright and mobile.

Re: Death to the Incumbent! Part Two: Now with more Death.

Meh, I'm not excited enough about Angle/Rossi's chances to justify staying up. I'm going to bed.

What you said. The DUI thing was a big deal for me. Maybe a quarter of my decision. But the rest was based purely on the issues. Horner was the man for the job I think.

The GOP functionally controlled the Senate the day they got a superminority. No reason that would change :p
