He was elected to the MN. SC in 1992, then re-elected in 1998 and 2004. He spoke at William Mitchell School of Law when I was going to night Law school there, and I thought he was extremely qualified to be a SC judge.
And, yes, it's two things - Name recognition, and he's reliably left-wing.
Actually, it was 1978.It looks like Dayton will win the MN gubernitorial election.
How is Alan Page winning for MN State Supreme Court? Can it be anything other than name recognition as a Viking? Last I looked, he's got about 66% of the vote. Prior to his first term he had virtually no law experience, graduating from law school right around 2000.
