Re: Deadliest Catch: Season 6

I don't think that blow up between Jake and Josh was scripted. Wow.

If that were my brother I would have broken his nose... Josh is doing this exactly the way I would except I'd probably would have broken down at least once. Still, gotta take care of business and do it right.

I notice that Jake isn't there, but Josh is. Has Jake made an appearance on "After the Catch" this season?

Re: Deadliest Catch: Season 6

The Geico coffee mug? Really, Andy?

Yeah, I'm getting a little tired of the Time Bandit and all their scripted drama.

"Geez, Mike missed with the hook, I guess he isn't our guy anymore." Better get Scotty ready.

Also the Edgar thing is getting a little old. Either get off the boat or quit *****ing. Seriously, There are plenty of people who would love the $100,000-$150,000 a deck boss can make on a Bering Sea boat in 7-8 months.

Re: Deadliest Catch: Season 6

Well, tonight is the night :(

Like alot of people, I don't usually get emotionally invested in TV, but this is gonna be tough... It's just something about watching this, knowing that what you are seeing is (probably) real, unedited emotion...

I'm really curious to how the rest of the fleet reacts and deals with this... This has got to be tough on them as is, but when compounded with dilivery dates and tough fishing, it has to push everyone to the brink...

Re: Deadliest Catch: Season 6

I have become so attached to some of these guys, especially Phil, that I anticipate tonight being the toughest TV I have ever seen (or maybe ever will see). This is different from a normal show because these "characters" that we have gotten to know are real people.:(

Re: Deadliest Catch: Season 6

Discovery has been advertising tonights show on the radio, a special 2 hour goodbye to Phil. Never heard them advertise the show on the radio before

Re: Deadliest Catch: Season 6

Yeah, I heard that last night going home from the office.

It's too bad the All Star Game has to coincide with tonight's episode, but I don't think anyone could have done anything about that. I'll just have to flip to the game in between commercials.

Re: Deadliest Catch: Season 6

So next weeks episode will be rough as well. Everyone's reactions after first learning of it. Apparently another 2 hour episode or rather maybe they mean the After the Catch will focus on it too...

Re: Deadliest Catch: Season 6

I think that's what they mean when they talk of 2-hour episodes.

It wasn't good by any stretch of the imagination, but that one wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be.

Yeah. Had it been the death and then the reactions right after it probably would have been more rough. I have to wonder if that really bad weather hit around the time Phil was slipping away or it was just editing. If it really was hitting then that is an erie coincidence.

Re: Deadliest Catch: Season 6

I wonder if there is still some strife between Jake and Josh or they just had them sit on opposite sides just because.

didn't see them shake hands either

----

I've been wondering if they've been time shifting to some degree... all reality series do it. Notice that they didn't have the CM out there in that mess which if you assume the rest as a literal timeline they would have been out there in that mess.

----

Short of showing Phil dying (which was rumored to be on tape) there isn't much you can do... life plays itself out so you can't always make it dramatic.

Re: Deadliest Catch: Season 6

Sounds like Phil's death is on tape judging by the After The Catch conversation occurring now.
