Re: Dead!!!!

I don't think it's callous at all. I go through it regularly with my mother when I go to see her at the memory care ward of her nursing home.
I'm sure there are more of us that can relate to that than we'd care to admit. Watching someone slowly die over the course of a few years is not pleasant.

Re: Dead!!!!

That one hits close to home. Lumpy's dad was played by one of my favorite character actors, Richard Deacon.

Wasn't Deacon one of the most well known but uncredited actors in his early years? I think he was in Invaders From Mars, Them, and Invasion of the Body Snatchers without ever being listed in the credits.

Re: Dead!!!!

A friend of mine put it best: even dead , Summerall is still a better play-by-play guy than Joe Buck. I'll have to break out Madden 98 tonight.

Re: Dead!!!!

When our fantasy football league first started up (well over a decade ago now) we named our trophy The Pat Summerall Cup. :)

Re: Dead!!!!

George Beverly Shea, singer at Billy Graham crusades for six decades, died at age 104. One of the all-time greats.
