Re: Dead!!!!

Hey Doc, For a touch of irony that I find to be just a little on the spooky side, today is Darlene Gillespie's seventy-second birthday. Saw it in the Denver Post which runs a daily item about celebrity birthdays.

And talk about being positively transfixed by spellbinding drama...

Grace Lee Whitney, aka Yeoman Janice Rand on the original Star Trek, turned 83 on April 1.

I'm glad Yeoman Rand was one red shirt that wasn't expendable. :)

Re: Dead!!!!

Never saw the MM Club. Maybe about ten years or so ago, one of the cable movie channels was running those teen beach movies all the time, so I managed to see all of them; Beach Party, Muscle Beach Party, Bikini Beach, and all the rest. Kitschy, but a lot of fun, and I could see how Annette was the lust object of teen boys everywhere.

And this movie from the 80's is a cult classic.

She was transferred after Season 1. We never saw her in Season 2 or 2.5

Sometimes on rainy miserable days I can spend hours on YouTube with the old TV clips. Much better than much of the **** being shown these days on TV. Thanks for the post.

Ya know Doc, While watching this classic piece of fistic brawling, I wondered to myself how I would have cast this bit of legendary action. In my mind's eye I see you as Sam the Chinese cook yammering incoherently in some Mandarin dialect. You'd be a natural for the part. :D

Re: Dead!!!!

You and every other hormonal teenage boy!

Ms. Funicello was a tireless campaigner for MS research. May she rest in peace.

One of the obits mentioned that she had been in an MS caused coma for "years." Nobody deserves that, well, maybe the latest Kim does, but practically nobody else.

Re: Dead!!!!

Annette Funicello and Margaret Thatcher died today. They were very different of course. One was an international sex symbol, the other was Annette Funicello.

*rimshot*

Whatever turns you on, I guess. Not for me to judge you for your, um proclivities.

Re: Dead!!!!

No Beach Blanket Bingo? And miss Harvey Lembeck as Eric Von Zipper? And an Oscar-worthy, tour-de-force performance by Don Rickles as Big Drop? Not to mention Paul Lynde as Bullets. You must be joking.

Don Rickles is still alive, at least you got that ;)

Re: Dead!!!!

Argentine newspaper speculates Thatcher drank herself to death.

I guess their noses are still out of joint because she turned the Ghurkas, with their Kukri daggers, loose on those poor Argentine conscripts in the Falklands*. My favorite nickname for her was: "Attila the Hen."

*Or maybe for blowing the bottom out of the General Belgrano.

I know that Obama would never do it but I'd love to see any retaliatory strike against the Norks to be dubbed either "Operation Falklands" or "Operation Malvinas"
