None of this was public, and Vince was always so positive and upbeat when he was on with Dan, that none of us fans realized how serious his illness had gotten.

If anyone has an opportunity, that is a fan of Vince Flynn, I recommend podcasting Barreiro's show from this afternoon. He had a very tough time with it, and it was quite touching. His opening "ode to a dead guy" was extremely well done, and it was obvious that Barreiro was failing at holding back the tears.

Also, there was some mention that Vince may have had enough time to complete a final book, to put a final close to the Mitch Rapp series, knowing that he wouldn't have another opportunity to do so.

It's been a rough week at that station with Lt Col. Weber passing late last week, and now Flynn and Whitman...

There is video still on there if you really want to see it. The plane was inverted and the walker was on the bottom of the wing looking like he was standing up as the plane takes a sudden dive down towards the ground which was not far away. Stalled would be my guess and just not enough time to do anything about it.

I would agree. Looked like cross controlled from the video.
