87 or 88 (one of those late 80s years after the ws win) he switched. then switched back.

According to baseball-reference, he never switched.

According to the ultimatemets database, he never switched.

But far more importantly, according to me he never switched.

Never said he was. But...baseball reference usually has these things right and I don't think they'd count it if he just wore it in spring training but not the regular season.
