DEAD!! All right, who died now?

Re: DEAD!! All right, who died now?

2016 apparently started early too, I keep seeing things listing Lemmy among the year's victims, when he died Dec. 28, 2015.

I suspect he had enough drugs in his system to continue walking, talking, performing, and "performing" for weeks after his biological death.

Re: DEAD!! All right, who died now?

I honestly would rather watch 3 hours of tributes to the giants of Hollywood lost this year than the winner of best animated set design in a foreign short film.

Re: DEAD!! All right, who died now?

If I'm a celebrity, I'm hiding under the bed for the next 4 days and taking my chances with 2017. This is getting absurd.

Re: DEAD!! All right, who died now?

So I asked this at the end of last year:

That's actually an interesting question. Which "mainstream" celebrity will hit you the hardest when they pass? What about all public figures?

so I'll ask it a different way:

What celebrity death in 2016 hit you the hardest? Would you like to change your answer looking ahead?

Note: only one person lost the person they listed. FadeToBlack&Gold with John McGloughlin.

Re: DEAD!! All right, who died now?

Past tense: Prince.

Future Tense: Honestly waiting for Jim Kelly to drop. That one is gonna hit me hard.

Re: DEAD!! All right, who died now?

The one I'm waiting on is Mike Ilitch. Once he goes (and it's a very good bet that he doesn't make it to the end of 2017. If you're in a 2017 Dead Pool, he's an excellent choice), the future of my two favorite local sports teams will undergo radical changes, and no one knows whether it's for better or worse.

Re: DEAD!! All right, who died now?

For me it's Prince. Sure he was "one of us" but I started listening to him as far back as 1979 at the latest and was a fan ever since and never wavered. I get the fact that he's not a John Glenn or Morley Safer but Prince's music is completed indebted with so many deeply personal memories from my youth on into college and even a few years beyond that for 2016 I think he hit the hardest.

As for the living Roger Waters would be near the top of my list, but I'm a bit tired and not giving it much deep thought right now.

Re: DEAD!! All right, who died now?

I guess I didn't really have one for 2016. Maybe Ron Rosenbaum (Twin Cities fame) or maybe Anton Yelchin, Dave Mirra, or Alan Rickman. But none of those three truly resonated with me.

Future: hard to pinpoint. Patrick Stewart would probably be up there. Though it's hard to really think of a nationally recognized name. As I mentioned last year, Reusse and Souch would hit hard.
