D3 Scores and Highlights - Let the season begin!

Re: D3 Scores and Highlights - Let the season begin!

:confused:: Rarely does one see such plays even in the pros, almost never 3 of such quality in one game. The kids deserve all the kudos that we can heap on them.:)

Well, over the four years we spent in Plattsburgh (two National Championships and three trips to the final four) I was witness to many, many picture perfect goals like this from Blanch, Brownie, O'Connor, Bywater, Bowler, and the whole crew...guess maybe I became spoiled. Time to move on. I'm sure there'll be more to come from all teams....

Well, no doubt you were especially blessed to have witnessed so "many, many picture perfect goals" over the four years you spent in Plattsburgh that you are now admittedly spoiled. However, maybe you could be a little more generous in spirit and in tolerance towards the joy all the rest of us not-so-special hockey fans get from witnessing merely exceptionally good goals. And maybe you could rise above your admittedly spoiled nature to also give some credit (or, at least, tolerate the credit others give) to the team and players who made these exceptional plays, even if these plays were not at the level of the "many, many picture perfect" plays of the "whole crew" from Plattsburgh you cite in your comment.

Hehehe...I'll try...I'll try...and at the same time, maybe you guys can limit your enthusiasm as well...to maybe one post per "highlight reel goal"...??:p And spare the rest of us. :)

Wait...is Seymore complaining about overposting??

Let me just copy a 2 page article and post it into the thread...hold on.

No, you're missing my subtle point. My comments were in reference to the half dozen posts and accompanying videos analyzing, ad nauseum, the goals from one team. Just a little overkill IMHO.

I simply copy and paste local newspaper articles of key games...one post per game...and with no endless editorializing...that's all...no big deal.

Time to move on to other topices...maybe a discussion on whether or not a western based team will win a game this year in the NCAAs?? :p

Yes, a western-based team will win a game in the NCAAs. It happens every year. Whether one will win a game at the Frozen Four is a better question. ;)

As for gojackets' point, for long articles, it is better to post a link to the article and just quote a snippet, as per USCHO posting guidelines:

Gotcha...note to self...links only.
As for a western team winning at the final four? That's a big question...but given the talent that's in the east right now, I think their record of futility will continue this year too.

Well I came home all excited to watch a hockey game to find out that it happend a couple of hours ago...Superior over CSS 4-2

Re: D3 Scores and Highlights - Let the season begin!

Per the RIT Sports twitter, RIT up 8-0 over Cortland. Looks like RIT will be hosting the ECAC West Championship for the second year in a row. Thanks Neumann.

Re: D3 Scores and Highlights - Let the season begin!

Crazy game in Superior.... 3-2 CSS in the first

There were some problems with the feed early on....missed Superior's 2 goals. First CSS goal was strange...it looked as if Torgerson had it covered with her glove a CSS player hit the glove with the stick and her had slid into the net....and they called the goal.

Superior had a goal called off. The on ice official called it a goal...after discussing with the goal judge he waived it off....don't see that too often.

Re: D3 Scores and Highlights - Let the season begin!

RIT "holds off" Cortland 8-0 to clinch the ECAC West regular season title....
