D3 Regional Rankings and Bracketology

Re: D3 Regional Rankings and Bracketology

i'm sorry, i have been legitimately loling every time i come back to this forum. Any time a west team loses, be it to another west to or an east team, it's always about why they lost, instead of why the other team won. Sure, some have been dropping the "elmira has experience," line, but then followed up with, "yeah, but adrian wasn't disciplined, they need to learn how to win, they were missing x player, they couldn't focus, etc. Etc. Etc."

we get it. It's a hard reality that other teams are better than the teams you prefer. But perhaps giving others credit couldn't hurt. That goes for nescac haters/lovers, too. Frankly? Yeah, i wanted elmira to win because it makes the ecac-w look better, sure. But as long as another banner is hoisted at stafford, i couldn't care less about how good the conference looks.

Amen!

(Miss ya Trots!) ;)

Official now. All roads lead to the Ronnie B.

My bad assumption wasn't that Plattsburgh would never choose to play the first game. My bad assumption was that Plattsburgh would have a choice. This is the NCAA's show. Guess I'll be listening from my desk at work on Friday.

Probably want the more rest? It's a common theme...

Re: D3 Regional Rankings and Bracketology

I just hope those average pedestrian Plattsburgh players Sheeran, Meneghin, and Leonard show up like they haven't all season, or else Plattsburgh will be going to be disappointed (TIC)

Re: D3 Regional Rankings and Bracketology

Lake Forest may indeed have been overrated, but when Greenway got hurt, they were essentially missing their two best players for the playoffs. Paluch did not play all of second semester. What was left was a group of sophomores and freshmen who had no experience on how to step up. Show me a team that is able to go the distance without their top two powerhouse players. Would Adrian be the same without Lewicki and Schroka? Would RF be the same without Kinsel and Sibley? It's a shame because I watched them earlier in their season when everyone was healthy and they were the real deal. BUT, injuries happen to everyone and can change a season ie, Gustavus.

The Adrian and Elmira game came down to experience and also that Adrian was missing Lupi and then had some stupid penalties that cost them.

So LF does not get out of the conference playoffs because they lost their two best players. Adrian is missing Lupi and has excuses for losing to Elmira. Middlebury lost All-American Watson and is headed to the FF. 'Nuff said?

Wow. Really? You're going to compare a defenseman to players that are/were top in the country for scoring? And, you're going to say that Middlebury's cake road with playing UMB in the quarters is also an equal comparison? Okay.

I think the gist of it is that all teams, Plattsburgh included, have issues that need to be dealt with. Disgruntled players (parents) over playing time, academics, injuries, illness, personal reasons, the list goes on and on...and on. Gotta fight through that stuff. Not sure I follow the UMB/Middlebury thing. It took a while but the Beacons started putting the pieces together later in the second half of the season. Beat Castleton, beat Norwich (better team lost that one, it happens), lost to Middlebury, a team that reminded me a lot of Norwich (although I thought UMB owned the first 8 or so minutes of the second period of what had been a scoreless game to that point vs the Panthers)

I guess according to you the AHCA needs to change the way they choose All Americans, from now on only top scorers shall be eligible? I never intended to compare an A/A defenseman to another team's leading scorer. I'm just tired of hearing about why Western teams lost, and then those same people take their potshots at Middlebury without giving them any allowance for having advanced despite losing a terrific two-way player.
