D3 Decisions: Running up the score

Re: D3 Decisions: Running up the score

RIT beats Chatham 7 - 1, went 0 for 8 on the PP (?) and out shooting them
60 - 14.

R-E-S-P...well you get it. Hopefully everyones getting it.

Nope, sorry, you'll never convince me and all you're doing is trying to convince yourselves that others are "catching on." Haha, that's funny... did you ever think, just maybe, the goalies had really good games? How arrogant are you to think the coaches are reading your comments in this forum and changing their game just to please you? That goes for CHG too!

Re: D3 Decisions: Running up the score

Dunno...Certainly a testament to the Chatham goalie....Big Time!

Greasemonkey, I hate quoting myself but again you seem to only read what you want to see so I'll put this up for you to ponder. For the record I don't post here to try and sway any coaching decisions. I do post here to raise awareness that running up scores into the teens is a bad idea.

Funny I was listening to the Platty game on WIRY.com on the weekend and in between periods the commentators brought up the subject of the USCHO Fan Forum and in particular the running up the score thread. I could tell by the way they were speaking about Plymouth State and their blowout record this year that they thought it was well...unbecoming to run them up like that. If you would like to think you are the only one reading this then go ahead, but again if that's the case....read everything, then make your asinine comments.

Re: D3 Decisions: Running up the score

No thanks, I already did that this morning and I think it landed on your head.:D

tsk, tsk...scatalogical humor from the "enlightened?" R-E-S-P-E-C-T-? (no, but still funny tho')

Now, I just might have to lay bare the naked truth that your mom was, indeed, from Saskatoon, but was NOT, in fact, a hockey player.:D :D

The Plattsburgh commentators are certainly entitled to their opinion - but the fact that they seem to feel the same way you do does not necessarily bolster your argument or strengthen your position.

What is the difference b/w winning 9-0 and 10-0? You still got stuffing beaten out of you. There is no difference except that it makes some people feel better about themselves. That's not about respect, it's about pity.

Those games you cited all had ridiculous shot totals - if those teams had so much "respect" for the game, they wouldn't keep shooting on net. Any of those pucks could have gone in and UH OH the score could have been in double digits ... and that would have been baaaaaaaad, right?

She had a rippin slapshot though, and could lay you out with one punch I'm sure. Ask your wife.

...I will when she gets home from work...I'm busy 'pooning noobs; I'll get back to ya tho', Dimples -- any pix of mumsy on-line? I figure she's got a tattoo of you somewhere: "Born to raise ...":D

Re: D3 Decisions: Running up the score

Never wore one. As a scrapper she certainly had more respect for the game to do something as silly as that. Would have welcomed too much trouble.

Grapes would be proud !. Good Canadian boy...Err Girl. :D

Re: D3 Decisions: Running up the score

Did he go off limp?

He will be back. The farce is strong with that one.

I see clearly what you mean. I've been just trying to show how interpretation plays such a vital role on these forums, with a little bit of jabbin thrown in. I'll be in the parking lot.

Re: D3 Decisions: Running up the score

not to rehash issues but take a look at the score between canada and slovakia (women's hockey).. 18-0 in the 3rd period (the score at the time of this posting)... i can't think of a better place that prides itself on sportsmanship than the olympics.. let's see if anyone (media, other teams, etc) complains about the score. If not, then to those people complaining about running up the score in the ncaa's..sit down..

Works for me!, there is an argument for just playing your game.

I watched my own get shellac-ed today by some very 'genteel' scores that could have easily looked like the above - and should have IMO.

It does not help anyone in any manner to play a 'lie' instead of a game.

The people calling the game said it best about half way through or less if you were watching it. I think they knew they would be criticized. Too much of the the other side invading the game I guess. Our coach disappoints me but I guess International rules took precedence here. I certainly expected them to back off after the first or second period but in a short series you have to go for the throat. This is not a full season. Go Canada....

Re: D3 Decisions: Running up the score

C'mon guys really...this is a tournament. Let's not confuse same with league play. GF & GA account for position in any tourney scenario. We don't need a tastes great vs. less filling filibuster on this one. Move along...nothing to see here. It's two different kettles of fish.

ummm so think...then sit down.

Hey 5-4, I might of just remembered who you remind me of. Was it Charlie Farquarson or something like that? Knew him?
