D3 Decisions: Running up the score

Re: D3 Decisions: Running up the score

i'm gonna make it my goal now to get this so far off track that it gets deleted....

how bout those tacos

That shouldn't be too difficult for you to do. Why don't you just start making some more of your ridiculous predicitions about where each team is going to finish then everybody will stop reading it anyway...Yawn.

Well Go J to be truly honest I'm really surprised you over here putting your shoulder behind the merits of running up the score. I thought you were a true fan...guess your just like the rest of them who don't get it. I actually had you higher on list than that.

I'm guessing by your lack of answers that there is no margin of victory chart. And that the rule is changed only to suit your personal needs (which I'm guessing are numerous ). By the way we don't get curling either could you maybe help us with that.

Hey uninformed American...you never quoted me when talking about your stupid chart idea...you quoted someone else. Stayed focused! Yikes get your Canadians straight. It's laughable.

I can however help you with the curling thing. You stand at one end and I'll throw rocks at you.

Why am I surrounded by incompetance today...

You are right I did not ask you about a chart but your fellow countrymen I don't blame you for not helping him. I did howevere ask you about when we can and can not beat a team by a wide margin. It's hard to tell you apart with both heads up your a****.

Typical with your fellow countrymen on this thread, you don't know what your talking about or who your talking to... but you just keep on talking. Yap, Yap, Yap...

But why? I love to see how vehemently the "Candaian Way" group contradict themselves. They are such an amusing bunch! Eh?

BTW, I prefer soft shell tacos, and you?

That seems really strange coming from someone who always seem to have their foot in their mouth.

Where is the contradiction? Or are you just mixed up again?

BTW we typically don't eat Mexican up here. Do you frequent Taco Bell often?
Supersize it with a big ol Cola, Eh?

Re: D3 Decisions: Running up the score

So running up the score is not an is not exclusive to American college teams. We learned from the best it is after all your game as you point out to us all too often.

So if it is short season or tournament it is OK to club teams by 18.
Do you have the chart that shows acceptable margin vs games played, or do we just contact the Canadian parliment for more information . YOU HOSER

Hey ********, I do have a chart and it says you have no freakin idea how to read. You and creasedonkey interpret to your own personal satisfaction. I truly believe the only way you idiots can be this stupid is purely because of your lack of experience and understanding of the game. Go lose a war somewhere will ya.

Perhaps the IOC should come up with a mercy rule type of solution for the blow outs. But, the Canadians and the U.S. are playing within the rules of the tournament. Now, all that being said, if the "goal differential" tie breaker for medal round seeding was eliminated and replaced with another form of ranking that would eliminate the need to blow teams out of the arena.
As a Canadian do I want to see an opponent get slaughtered?, of course not, I don't derive any pleasure from watching us beat a helpless team into submission, but until the rest of the womens hockey world catches up (and someday they will) with the Maple Leaf and Stars and Stripes I see the mercy rule as the only viable option.
The last thing we want is the IOC to eliminate gilrs hockey from the games.

Good post but your preaching to the choir here. Apparently a number of people here do derive pleasure from blowouts. I could name a few that are probably sorry they missed the Slovak vs. Belarus tilt...prob missed the best game of their lives.:(

Re: D3 Decisions: Running up the score

We had a game this year when, down by 8 goals and with 3 minutes left, the other coach ran a 'Fire Play' a.k.a. 'Draw Play' where the two Defenseman rush through the gaps on the face-off. According to some threads posted here, that team has a good coach - actually helping the overmatched team by making us tougher in the long run. I can assure you that, as a team, we did not feel that they were 'toughening us up'. Nor did it make the coaching staff feel an immediate need to run out and 'recruit better'. There is no good reason to win by double digits or more. Ever. Under any circumstances.
