There seems to be a proliferation of people going to multiple places at the same time this year.

I'm sure it is just coincidence, but it's interesting to note that two former NAHA players who were on the UNH roster last season did not return for this season (although two other former NAHA players did return, which is what makes me believe it is only coincidence)...and now that makes two current NAHA players who were initially reported as heading to UNH now going to different schools.

Actually, it is three, two of whom were seniors and forced to hang up their skates due to off-season surgery.

Re: D1 Commitments 2012-2013

FWIW- Hannah Bramm was in the stands at the UMD games this weekend.
I'm sure this is a play-by-play announcer's dream. In the same class, UMD lands Hannah Bramm, Minnesota gets Hannah Brandt, and SCSU has Hanna Brodt. I suppose it would be worse if they were all on one team, not just the same conference.

Would be even more confusing if she'd gone to MC... Goal by Bram from Bram and Bramm. :D

Which brings up a memory. One of our D played baseball one year with triplets on the team. They were all in the same class at her school. Never seen triplets on a hockey team.

Please forgive the off-topic post, but this is pretty interesting.

Never seen triplets on a hockey team.

Not triplets, but you have twins (Connor and Ryan Reilly) and a younger brother (Mike Reilly) all now playing for the Penticton Vees [ http://www.pentictonvees.ca/leagues/team_statistics.cfm?clientID=3172&leagueID=8370 ]. All three are Gopher recruits.

And, their older sister Shannon was a recent standout defender for Ohio State, and their younger sister Caitlin will be playing her sophomore season at Benilde-St. Margaret's [ http://www.mngirlshockeyhub.com/roster_players/334159?subseason=33703 ].

Quite the hockey family, I'd say!

While the more commonly known twins at the high female level are the Lam twins, the Johnston family from Sudbury must rank right up there when it comes to number of high caliber female hockey players. Katie played at Harvard, Sarah and Rebecca at Cornell. They also have two brothers that played, one at Cornell, and the youngest one is heading to Colgate.

Re: D1 Commitments 2012-2013

Over the past six or so years I have been doing this I have yet to see a commitment we've listed to an Ivy not turn out to be such. I think the girls doing the committing have a pretty good idea (ridiculously high test scores/a likely letter) that they will be accepted, or have waited until they have been accepted to make the commitment.

A second recent example from another thread in this forum:

If I recall correctly from old commitment lists, [Erin Barley-Maloney] actually had chosen to attend Cornell in the first place, before later changing and ending up on the Vermont list at the 11th hour.

In that case, I don't think it was an issue of her not getting in to Cornell.

I know of a men's recruit who committed to Brown and wasn't admitted and then went to RPI.
