What happen to the Ann Renee Desbians to Northeastern post? Anyways, was going to say that that's a great pickup, especially since replacing Schelling was probably one of the top priorities on the NU recruiting list.

Well, a few months ago a certain alum of the same institution of higher learning where I garnered my sheepskin told me she was headed there, only to call and say that (to date) she wasn't and that the name should be taken off the list.

Edit: OOOOPS, seems I was told a different name and, ah well mixed it up. Those French names, they all sound the same, eh?

This '94 class is pretty deep. McCloskey has done a very nice job to strengthen his squad- solid recruiting class at UNH. As BC fan excited about addition of Meghan Grieves, strong power forward with speed and very gritty player. Hux you might want to check spelling of Grieves name- I checked the USA Hockey website and it is Meghan Grieves not Meeghan Greeves. Any word on Haley Skarupa and what her plans are? Would love to see Carpenter, Grieves and Skarupa as Eagles!

It's interesting that you say the 94 class is pretty deep. I have heard a couple college coaches say that it's the least deep in a long time. Will be interesting to see how many 95s make the u18 compared to the # of 94s last year.

Think Grieves is as advertised!!

Congrats to Molly Illikainen, GRG Lightning....committed to Providence! Plays mostly...if not exclusively at F position I believe. "GRG" is Grand Rapids / Greenway, her high school team. Could actually be from one of a few smaller neighboring cities. Not sure on home town exactly. I'm sure someone that reads this will know.

Yes, she is from Grand Rapids, Minnesota and she a forward. Her sister is Morgan a defender who is a 11/12 Dartmouth recuit. Both nice players.

Congrats to Molly Illikainen, GRG Lightning....committed to Providence!

What I'll always remember about her is a state tournament game when she was I believe an 8th grader. She collided heavily with the boards and suffered a fracture in the leg or ankle. Play continued, and she managed to get up and skate to her bench on the far side of the ice, displaying toughness for one so young. Coach Deraney seems to get a lot of kids out of the top half of Minnesota HS recruiting classes.
