Three freshmen goalies? That's either going to be fun to watch or kind of scary. Nothing like competition for a starting job, eh?
Not sure how many of these have been said but from the OHA website

I was wondering if there are any stats, career overviews, anything at all like that. So far, all we have is that she's a graduating forward from Cleveland.

given that she's not even on the top OHA team I'd say it's likely she's another in a line of D3 caliber players who will be walking on and playing for a year or two as Penn State phases in their scholarships
Little rough on the high school kid? I'm sure we could all share stories about recruit full ride not playing to the level of recruit walk on.
No, just stating facts. she is on the 2nd OHA team which is not nearly as strong as the top team and she's going to a new D1 program that has taken on a lot of mid to high end D3 players looking for a D1 opportunity. Some of them will last all 4 years and do well, and many of them will fall by the wayside as Penn State phases in the rest of their scholarships.
That's the reality of building a program, especially at the D1 level where scholarships are involved...and especially at a school with the profile of Penn State that is going to demand sooner rather than later once their scholarships are phased in that their fully funded hockey programs be more than just competitive.
It's not a knock on anyone. To get to that level at all takes plenty of hard work and a good deal of talent, I'm not denying that.
Good point. Keep identifying the 17 year old kids you predict will wash out after a year or two. Good stuff.
I will. And you can keep burying your head in the sand if you think more than maybe half of the kids going to Penn State are going to make it to graduation as members of that hockey program.
