D-III Scores and Highlights: The stretch run and the road to the 'chip

Re: D-III Scores and Highlights: The stretch run and the road to the 'chip

Final in De Pere. SNC 1 Adrian 2. SOG SNC 16 Adrian 28. Tough battle in the third...

Re: D-III Scores and Highlights: The stretch run and the road to the 'chip

Thanks, again! Does this mean you get to do it all over again in Adrian?

Re: D-III Scores and Highlights: The stretch run and the road to the 'chip

yes they do

Wait, what happens now? If LF beats Finlandia tomorrow, that will put them at 21 points along with St. Norbert and UWSP. Who finishes where? LF holds the tiebreaker over UWSP, UWSP holds the tie breaker over Norbert, and Norbert holds it over LF.

Re: D-III Scores and Highlights: The stretch run and the road to the 'chip

ya should be

lfc @ rf
snc @ adrian
uwsp @ uws
cuw @ uwec

wouldn't UWSP tie LF with 21 pts each and LF win tie breaker head to head? or does Point edge them out in some other category?

So there is a 3 way tie for 6th.

Tie Breakers are

1) head to head competition
2) Most NCHA wins
3) Goal Differential in NCHA games played between tied teams
4) goal differential in all NCHA games
5) Coin Flip

If you compare SNC and Stevens Point--Stevens Point wins the first tie breaker
If you compare LFC and Stevens Point--LFC wins the first tie breaker
If you compare SNC and LFC--SNC wins on the 3rd tie breaker ( a 3-1 win vs a 3-2 win by LFC)

I think it would then go to the 4th tie breaker as that doesn't put forth a clear winner

LFC's goal differential is 14
SNC's goal differential is 28
Points goal differential is 11

So I believe unless LFC beats Finlandia 15-0 tomorrow

It will be

#6 St Norbert (grr)
#7 LFC
#8 Stevens Point

***I"m assuming this is right as the NCHA website says LFC clinches 7th with 4 pts and a Stevens Point loss or tie

or if Finlandia beats or ties LFC tomorrow it will be
#6 Point
#7 SNC
#8 LFC

I'm not sure if we are reading this correctly gojackets.

If we look at the wins and losses between the teams in the 3-way tie (each team having played 4 games) the standings would be:
LFC 3-1
UWSP 2-2
SNC 1-3

I don't have the rules in front of me, but I've seen tie breakers done both ways (n-way or pairings).

it could be that way to, I wondered that. My opinion is more the way I posted it but it could be either way

I prefer this way tho of

Re: D-III Scores and Highlights: The stretch run and the road to the 'chip

my logic may or may not make sense... but i think it goes LF, UWSP, SNC. LF swept UWSP and split with SNC, UWSP swept SNC and got swept by LF, and SNC split with LF and got swept by UWSP. so head to head didn't LF do the best, then UWSP, then SNC?

I'ld be good with that. At least it would not be another UWS/UWSP first round matchup.
