D-III Scores and Highlights: The stretch run and the road to the 'chip

Re: D-III Scores and Highlights: The stretch run and the road to the 'chip

I'ld be good with that. At least it would not be another UWS/UWSP first round matchup.

well the one thing that's certain is that uwsp can only finish 6th if lake forest doesnt win today

Re: D-III Scores and Highlights: The stretch run and the road to the 'chip

my logic may or may not make sense... but i think it goes LF, UWSP, SNC. LF swept UWSP and split with SNC, UWSP swept SNC and got swept by LF, and SNC split with LF and got swept by UWSP. so head to head didn't LF do the best, then UWSP, then SNC?

this is very possible and I don't disagre with your logic. However the way I look @ it is that no team has a clear edge over the other teams in the first 3 criteria lfc beats stevens who beats norberts who beats lfc heres to finlandia upset today!

Re: D-III Scores and Highlights: The stretch run and the road to the 'chip

I'm not sure if we are reading this correctly gojackets.

If we look at the wins and losses between the teams in the 3-way tie (each team having played 4 games) the standings would be:
LFC 3-1
UWSP 2-2
SNC 1-3

I don't have the rules in front of me, but I've seen tie breakers done both ways (n-way or pairings).

This is the way most leagues do it. Head to head competition among tied teams means what is the record among the group.

the ncha sites no help either as it just says seeding will be determined based on tie breakers. It would be nice if they laid out the scenarios like they did yesterday, but that wouldn't allow them to interpret the data the way they choose

Re: D-III Scores and Highlights: The stretch run and the road to the 'chip

i'm guessing no one will be in Finlandia with updates? what about chatham?

Re: D-III Scores and Highlights: The stretch run and the road to the 'chip

i did a quick look through the NCHA and MIAC recordbooks. i think with this win, RF has became the first team to ever go undefeated in the west.

this is true
LadyFalconsFan, I believe you are referring to the regular season including non-conferences games and yes congradulations to UW River Falls on the great regular season. The following seasons Gustavus was undefeated in the MIAC conference: 01-02 18-0-1, 05-06 17-0-1, 07-08 18-0-0, & 08-09 16-0-2.

The only web page I can find that gives any real hint to seeding questions is the Lake Forest article from yesterdays game that states if Lake Forest wins Sunday they finish 6th and go to UW Superior next weekend. That leaves Stevens Point and Saint Norbert with UWSP having beaten SNC twice. That would lead me to believe Point goes to Adrian and SNC goes to River Falls. I hope I am wrong, I would perfer to see SNC in River Falls the following weekend for the Semi Finals.

Point has the tie breaker over SNC so if that were the case then SNC would end up in River Falls

Re: D-III Scores and Highlights: The stretch run and the road to the 'chip

Final score LF 4 Fin 1 sooooooo............

Re: D-III Scores and Highlights: The stretch run and the road to the 'chip

Potsdam 6 Chatham 4

So Chatham does finish the season winless. Looks like they put up a good fight this weekend though

Re: D-III Scores and Highlights: The stretch run and the road to the 'chip

Plattsburgh 7 - Utica 0, game called with a little more than 3:20 left due to a potentially bad injury to a Utica player - removed by EMT's.

01-02 23-5-2

07 08 25-3

08-09 22-2 -4 Apples to Apples

Great season for some great teams but not undefeated for the regular season. By the way those losses were all to NCHA teams which makes River Falls season that much more impressive. Congradulations to the school, fans, coaches and the players for making history.

Per the Plattsburgh Press-Republican article -
http://pressrepublican.com/0300_sports/x87562625/Cards-cap-regular-season-with-sweep

The officials ended the game with 3:29 left because Utica's Vanessa Maines was injured falling into the boards and had to wait for a stretcher. Utica coach Dave Clausen said he didn't think Maines' injuries were too serious.

Oswego leads Castleton 3-1 right now in each team's final regular season game.

Mackenzie Lee, Carly Henderson and Megan Howe have the three goals for Oswego. Lee also has assists on both of the other goals.

Kaitlin Hayes with the goal for Castleton.

The Lakers are outshooting the Spartans 29-21 right now.
