College Football V: Bowls Are Done; Carry On My Wayward Sons

Re: College Football V: Bowls Are Done; Carry On My Wayward Sons

Wooo.

Russell Wilson isn't done playing college football. The former North Carolina State quarterback has left his minor league baseball team and will play for Wisconsin this fall, the school confirmed.

But wait...
Wilson, who visited both Wisconsin and Auburn this spring...

Oh man, how much do you think Wisconsin had to cough up to outbid them?

Nebraska is officially a member of the Big Ten today. Although they will not be fully financially vested for a few years (meaning they don't get a normal cut of B1G money).

The value of a Nebraska degree just increased 100x fold.

Hmmmm. According to the Big Ten Network the 1998 and 1995 Orange Bowl featuring Nebraska vs Tennessee and Nebraska vs Mimi are two of the "Big 10's Greatest Games."

Sounds like a refugee from the USSR is working in the publicity department.

Which should offset some of the decline after Nebraska lost its AAU status.

While I get the allure of the Cornhuskers from a football perspective, this really ****es me off that the Big Ten lowered itself to accepting a non-AAU school.

I get that Nebraska technically got the boot from AAU after getting accepted to the Big Ten, but from what I understand, that was a long time coming.

Stupid ****ing Huskers.

If there are any current Big Ten students on this board, may I suggest an "AAU Rejects" chant directed at Nebraska?

I don't think that rolls off the tongue so well. How about "dumb a$s hicks" perhaps??

Re: College Football V: Bowls Are Done; Carry On My Wayward Sons

So, according to a Yahoo article yesterday, Oregon's going to get *** in the A for the 25k they gave for "old recruiting information" that was actually "Pimp us out to these recruits"

Good to know that both teams in the BCSNG were blatantly cheating. Keep it under the table, boys!

Just remember...the "N" on the flag stands for "Nowledge" ;)

One article I read said that O won't likely get in as much trouble because paying for bad recruiting advice (which will be how O spins this) isn't illegal. Sure it looks far more suspicious than that but the writer seemed to think they'd wriggle off the hook regarding any substantial penalties...of course at this point we thought the Tressel thing was just one bad decision about an email...who knows what lurks beneath the surface on this one?

The yahoo article was the guy sending the "bad recruiting advice" throwing Oregon under the bus and claiming it as "They paid me to influence guys to visit and go to Oregon." That would be......bad.

On the back of my post, I wonder Gordon Gee will ask Ms. Anthony to take Pryor or Tressel to a wooded area. :D
