College Football IV: The Hand over Fist Cash Grab Time, or Bowl Season for short.

Re: College Football IV: The Hand over Fist Cash Grab Time, or Bowl Season for short.

Hampton's been injured for 2 years now so no big loss there. Robinson's issue is likely grades as he has the option to return in January. He missed two starts with grade issues earlier this year. If this was fallout from DJK I don't think Robinson would be allowed to return at all.

Maybe, maybe not. Like I said rumors are out there about more than just those two. We should find out soon.

edit: I should add that there is a press conference tomorrow and most of the rumors started on the HawkeyeReport message board and got spread. I find those to be the most fun types of rumors :D

I will say some are quite amusing, but there is something inherently funny about a bunch of SEC crackers attempting to poke fun at the socioeconomic status of Big Twen country.

People in the SEC know how to use computers? :D That's heck of a step up because they just got running water and electricity last week.

It helps them keep track of all their payouts, gifts, etc. to recruits. Don't want to lose track of those!

And to make sure no one schedules Boise State or TCU.

Yah, those abbreviations could get rather confusing otherwise. Somebody might mix TCU up for Texarkana Community University or BSU for Biloxi Southern University and suddenly have a touch nonconference schedule.

I would just like to state it for the record, on behalf of the Big East, that we hereby reserve the division titles "Shirts" and "Skins" for any eventual 12 team football alignment within the conference.

Assuming the NCAA wouldn't tell us "Skins" was hostile and abusive to never-nudes.

PS Don't ever stop at the Burger King in Pikeville, KY.

Edit: Gotta say #62 made me laugh...

that makes it even funnier, these aren't Stanford grads poking fun between sips of cab, when the kentucky talk radio crowd can come off like Larry David on you, you know you have a problem with your conference names and logos

Well, maybe there's an evil method to Jim Delaney's madness. When it comes time to sell the division names to corporate sponsors, everyone will be relieved, if not thrilled. Compared to Leaders & Legends, The McDonald's and Burger King Divisions will sound almost reasonable.

you are onto something...maybe sponsor it and have the Hamburglar and Grimace divisions...hey, 81G Ten---> just as stupid, more revenue

Re: College Football IV: The Hand over Fist Cash Grab Time, or Bowl Season for short.

According to an unscientific poll on ChicagoTribune.com, 6 percent believe Legends and Leaders "represent what the Big Ten is all about," and 94 percent say, "You have to be kidding … is this the best they can do?"

Similarly, 93 percent of those responding to a midwestsportsfans.com poll voted for either "terrible" or "it makes me want to gouge my eyes out with a spoon." Others opted for "awesome" (2 percent) or "indifferent" (5 percent).

Heh.

This post made me realize that the logo will be better when (not if) the Big Ten has 810 teams.

The division names are stupid, but in the end I couldn't really care less what they call them. No games will be won or lost, nor BCS spots gained because of the lame division titles the assigned. I'll still sleep well.

Can't have that...AD's get fired in the SEC schedules like that...

Nike unveiled new uniforms for TCU, Boise, Florida, and Oregon today. You can scroll through the gallery here.

Surprisingly toned down by Nike's standards.
If it weren't for the stupid wings and what appears to be neon yellow Oregon's would be pretty nice.

MSU 6
Iowa 37

Don't get trounced by Iowa.
Exactly. And Wisconsin beat OSU, the other team tied for #1. So UW and MSU were both 1-1 against teams tied for first. Why should MSU's win count, but UW's not? Or, to look at it the other way, they both have a "good" B10 win, but only MSU has a "bad" loss.
