That's what happens when you play tricks on God's team.

Re: College Football II: The BCS hits the Fan

A little tougher game than expected with Maine, but Cuse showed me something. Under GRob, we would've gotten tight and possibly lost. Under Marrone, we got intense and blew the Fightin' Dolores Claibornes out of the water. It shows that this team will actually play for this coach.

I think SU has a shot at being .500 in the Big East. Of course, part of my feeling is because the Big East is that bad ;)

Re: College Football II: The BCS hits the Fan

Having seen the replay, I'll say that the ESPN clock, WAS synced up to the stadium clock (it's on the right side of the stadium scoreboard...check it when the game clock is at 7)

That being said, Sparty DID snap the ball after the clock went 00...but I'm not going to flip out about it because I didn't stay up for the whole thing. And I've gotten used to Notre Dame finding a way to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory.

"After review, the conference believes that the game officials correctly applied the proper mechanics and guidelines that are in place to determine, in a consistent manner, when a flag should be thrown for delay of game. The responsibility is assigned to the back judge, who in this situation was standing beneath the upright. Proper mechanics dictate that his focus be directed to the play clock as it approaches zero. When the play clock display reads zero, he must re-direct his attention to the ball. At that time, if the snap has not started, a flag will be thrown for delay of game. If the snap has begun, no flag will be thrown.

Under these procedures, there will always be a small amount of lag time between the time the clock reads zero and the time the back judge is able to see the football. On the play in question, this lag time created the situation where it appears the play clock expired just before the snap. We believe the snap occurred well within the normal lag time for the back judge to make this determination. This play is not reviewable under current NCAA rules."

I don't think the ESPN clock is perfect, either - it was running a little fast from my view. That said, they still got the play off.

Gamebreak during the Wisconsin/Austin Peay beatdown - Shoelace Robinson from Michigan got hurt... looks like lower extremity. Way to put all those eggs in one unsupported basket, RichRod.

Re: College Football II: The BCS hits the Fan

Robinson injury appears to be minor, as he wanted to go back in, but he'll sit for the rest of the game obviously.

Yeah... jumped the gun on that one. Sue me. :D

Looked like he tried to get up during the highlight they showed, then had a knee buckle. Then they cut back to Aaron Henry blowing up some WR from Austin Peay.

Shouldn't some Michigan alum get some baseball player to come by and teach him how to slide? He's going to end up smashed into pieces in the Big Ten.

If he tries to slide, he'd hurt himself worse... ever caught a cleat trying to slide? Think the chances of an ankle injury go up 'cause the kid refuses to do the loop-swoop-and-pull?

Re: College Football II: The BCS hits the Fan

37-14 Michigan.

This is roughly the time in the game where everything nearly went straight to hell in a rocket sled last week.

Re: College Football II: The BCS hits the Fan

Big Ten's winning 3 of the 4 early games in the Big Ten-MAC football challenge this week. Purdue still trails Toledo 24-17 in the 4th. MAC may have a shot in 2 of the 4 later games with Akron at Indiana and Northern Illinois at Minnesota, especially if NIU comes out wearing something to do with a Dakota.

Re: College Football II: The BCS hits the Fan

USC has run one offensive play and leads 14-7.

And BC lost to VaTech 19-0.

Oh, and the UAB/Tenn game might have an interesting finish... DTV 698

Toledo knocks off Purdue 31-20
Central Michigan pulls to within 30-25 on Northwestern with about 1:30 to play.

Re: College Football II: The BCS hits the Fan

Wow, Ryan Mallet just carved up the Bama defense in 0:50 for a TD.

Re: College Football II: The BCS hits the Fan

OT in Rocky Top

That SEC sure is amazing!

Re: College Football II: The BCS hits the Fan

The Big Ten needs to coordinate their scheduling non-conference. Ohio State-Eastern Michigan should never, ever, ever, be a nationally televised 3:30 game.

Re: College Football II: The BCS hits the Fan

If you're the Big 10, would you rather have had the 65-21 game in Ann Arbor at 3:30? Or Toledo beating Purdue?
