Re: College Football II: The BCS hits the Fan

My gf's interpretation of the Michigan State coach's comments after the game, "Yeah, our kicker sucks, so we just said **** it."

Re: College Football II: The BCS hits the Fan

I'm sure the MSU kicker feels real confident after what Dantonio said. :p

Heck of a call though.

And in other news...

Thanks for showing up, Iowa.

Re: College Football II: The BCS hits the Fan

Play clock is at :00

Whoops.

I just saw it on replay, and it wasnt snapped much after it went :00...but still

Look at the two stadium clocks though. Tough to make out, but it looks like they are at :01. In addition, referees are supposed to give the benefit of the doubt for the ball being snapped at :00.

I was just posting on that as well. The clock on the TV is NOT the official clock. ESPN uses their own clock from the production truck and it is not promised to be synced to the second/half second as the official clock.

If you watch it at real speed, Id say it falls in the benefit of the doubt window for sure.

All that is true, but do you think that is going to hold any water with the Touchdown Jesusfreak Golden Domers? All they'll care about is that screen grab. It's already got lots of play online. It'll be interesting to see how the four letter network spins it.

ETA: Here's the video. No way is this delay of game. But the Domers are crying.

Re: College Football II: The BCS hits the Fan

I'm just shocked that Notre Dame is now 1-2 against the Big Ten after the professional announcing crew on NBC told me last week that if Notre Dame's back-up running back played in the Big Ten, he'd be as good as John Clay, but isn't good enough to get carries for the mighty Irish.

EDIT: The more legit beef from ND fans is the absolutely awful block in the back call the officials let the MSU sideline call at the end of regulation. ND would have needed 15-20 yards with a minute left and a timeout to kick the winning FG if not for that. That bailed out Kirk Cousins after one of the more astoundingly poor decision I've seen a QB make.

So, Stanford is kinda good. If only Michigan had a coach...

Like it matters. When it comes to them you're either left with those who are living in 1985 and think the team is still relevant on the national scene, or people like Craig P. who think the 51st best team in the nation last year actually had the top three Heisman candidates on it.

It's better to just dismiss it all and view at as college football's greatest comic tragedy.

Tony Rice is not coming through that door.

3-0 baby!

And if any of you have the game DVRed, which I know you do, you can see me holding my "FREAK THE DEACS" sign while the Stanford flag goes across the end zone after Stanford goes up 41-7!
