College Football 2022: “Here’s a twenty, bury two.”

The first CFP rankings are out tonight.

Repeating my rant from not long ago- this one is the most pointless one, given that the 4 that are most likely going to be "in" - 2 of them have to lose a game. While it's possible that the loser can get in- it's not likely if there are two undefeated teams available, like TCU and Clemson.

And my big complaint- if you can't win your division, let alone conference, you didn't earn your way into the playoffs. I heard some BS that the loser of the OSU/UM game could get in if it was close- and I'm 100% against that. If we lose by one point, we lose and should not go to the playoffs.

Playoffs are out.

And I'm really amused that the talking heads are saying that Michigan has to beat OSU to get in. No kidding.... This isn't the SEC, who get a bonus even though they play Vanderbilt.

It's also funny how teams like Bama have such a tough schedule- they do have to play Austin Peay still. And somehow Utah State and LA-Monroe are amazing teams. Not an excuse for Michigan's non-conference schedule, but come on. Texas is good and all, but the other ones are nothing. (Austin Peay is an FCS school, BTW).

Lot of football to play, still.

The Irish tonight.

"We"? < checks geography >

The Tigers are my team. North Dakota doesn't have D-1 football. In the early-80's, my dad worked in the union and work was drying up in North Dakota. He went down to Savannah, Georgia for a couple month project. While down there, he worked with a player from Clemson's '81 title team. When the former Tiger found out my dad had young kids, he gave him some Clemson swag to bring home, including some Clemson clothes (matching t-shirt/sweatpants set) that fit me. I fell in love with the logo, I and have followed the school ever since.

I also nearly went to school there.

Cool.

Hats off to ND. The gave Clemson a thrashing.

Yep. How did the Irish lose to Stanford?

Had it been a close game, perhaps Clemson could have stayed in the Playoff hunt. However, given the absolute blowout, the Tigers are done. Even if Clemson wins out, including an ACC title, I just don't see a realistic path to the Playoff after tonight.

The only hope now is for the SEC to completely fall flat on its face. [crosses fingers].

Now that Bama says behind Clemson, they are doing their best. Georgia win over TN is big enough to really eliminate them. For the most part, I can't see how the SEC could possibly get 2 teams in.
