College Football 2015-16: Bowls, Playoffs, and Offseason

Re: College Football 2015-16: Bowls, Playoffs, and Offseason

Indiana just got boned in OT. Field goal went over the upright, might have actually been inside, but they called it no good and it's stupidly not reviewable.

The thing is that the ball must pass completely INSIDE the upright to be good... Going over the upright is no good by rule....

Yeah I learned that a little later. At first I figured it was the same as the NFL, who uses the outside as the boundary, most likely because of the chance the ball could bounce in.

Heading to LA bright and early tomorrow. Hasn't really set in the the Rose Bowl is two days from now.

I keep seeing all these stories about how the playoff ratings will fall because they're on NYE, with interviews of club and restaurant owners from Miami, Boston, LA, and NYC. Last I checked, none of those places are known for their love of college sports.

Perhaps not, but the casual fan count may usurp the rest.

I used to be excited for a lot of these bowl games but there are just so many now i've lost interest. still don't like that these playoff games are tonight. my wife is pretty good about letting me watch sports but she likes to go out for new year's. working a full day today and the first game starts at 4. hoping to be on the couch by 930 to see the 2nd half of the 2nd game. seems like a lot of you like that these games are today, i just think new year's day/night makes a lot more sense especially when the next day is a saturday.

Reason 45,234 why I love living on the West Coast: playoff games should be over around 8 pm. What conflict?

Yeah being back east last weekend and having the Skins game start at 8:30 felt weird. That's when games are supposed to end (unless it's a Stanford home game, then the Pac12 always makes them start at 7:30pm)!

10am football was great, but now I have 10am EPL so I'm happy.

7am EPL would probably be a bit excessive for the pubs, even for SF.

Probably already left, but safe travels! Looks like the weather won't be as good as I had it (80 and sunny), but 65 and sunny for tomorrow will still be great.

7am? Try 5am. Exactly why I don't watch much EPL.

Same with the NFL, kick off is 9am here. I ain't getting up that early on my day off...

Still beats what either fanbase is getting at home. Even here it's only 50. We have to use our ice scrapers in the morning; I didn't even remember I had one of those!

If Clemson can stop Oklahoma from running the ball, they can win. But I'd imagine this will be a high 30's score game either way. I don't know how to pick Michigan State and Alabama. I feel like Michigan State has been good but lucky quite a few times.

If I had money on the line, I'd take Oklahoma and Alabama. I guess my rooting interest hopes for Clemson and Michigan State.
