Just for clarification, Iowa didn't need a fluky play to sneak past Northern Iowa. They blocked two field goal attempts that would have given Northern Iowa the lead. The fluky play lead to them having to block two field goals in the last 20 seconds of a game to win.

Uh, no.

"Only because Dez White is ineligible" might have some merit to it, but of course that doesn't play into your horrific bias very well.

Irrelevant, since in this case, despite being biased, he is far closer to the truth than any Notre Dame lackey is.

Hell, those two would hold a reality TV context to settle the matter which would do nothing to settle the arguement between the two.

Ochocinco doesn't count, he would argue if you had a conversation on who was the best center in football and didn't add his name.

Not sure as I don't recall having a hissy fit. Either way, it doesn't take an anti-ND bias to observe pro-ND bias.

Excellent article indeed; greatly appreciate the link.

Of particular interest is the comparison between 1980s scheduling and the present. Pre-BCS, a typical season featured 15-20 non-conference games between ranked teams. (based on preseason rankings) The current year included only 4 such games. :( Note that this occurred despite the fact the 12 game regular season provides more opportunities to schedule these match-ups. :mad:

Almost enough to make me an Oklahoma fan! :)

Never had a reason to root for the Sooners before, but this article makes a good case for lending them a cheer. Except in head-to-head competition, of course.;)

Great article. I like the attitude that coaches like Carrol and Stoops have regarding Non-conference games. To be the best, you have to beat the best.

If the BCS was used simply to rank the playoff teams it would be nice.

As it is right now it rewards cowardice. If the BCS only ranked playoff teams, then it would actually make college football even better because scheduling the top teams would make it even better.

IMO, I think if there was a playoff you'd see a lot more of non-SEC interplay in the OOC as teams seek out opponents which would test them for the playoffs.

It just seems the whole system becomes a larger mockery each subsequent season.
