College Basketball ver Do Wedzenia Krzyzewski

I absolutely know I am going to regret this, but... huh?

Alabama freshman Brandon Miller. Likely lottery draft pick. SEC Player of the year. Left off the list for the Wooden award. Delivered the gun that a teammate used to kill a woman. But as of now is not facing any charges because ?\_(ツ)_/?. Teammate apparently texted him asking him to bring gun to him and he did. Oh and during player intros before a game after this all came to light he decided that during his intro it would be a good idea to have another teammate perform a pat down on him.

More like he was told to retire...

The way that whole thing went down was kind of weird.

Boeheim: ”I gave my retirement speech on the court and at the press conference, but no one seemed to notice. But right now it’s up to the school.”

*literally three hours after the game ends *

Syracuse: “Please welcome Adrian Autry as the new coach of Syracuse basketball!”

Hats off to the Mountaineers; they came to play. Kansas didn't get rattled though. Led by 2 at the half and won by 2.
Rematch today at 3 in the Big12 qtrs. WVa was a tough out last time and hopefully they'll be a little worn out having played less that 24 hours ago.

Howard wins the MEAC and goes dancing for the first time 30 years.

That sound you hear is producers all over the place rearranging shooting schedules.

For the first time since 1938(and 2020 for covid), the NIT semifinal and final will no longer be held New York. This year they'll be at the Orleans Arena in Vegas. Next year’s NIT will be hosted by Butler in Indianapolis, Indiana.

Nope, probably a dozen teams have declined since the NCAA took over in the 70s.

Yeah. Sometime in the 50s the NCAA said you can’t play in both the NCAA and NIT. Then in the 70s they said you can’t decline the NCAA and play in another tournament.

Now with the money involved no one would want to decline the NCAA anyway, but you can definitely decline the NIT.

I know that, but...

The NCAA bought the NIT in 2005. I thought when they did that, they said you can't decline an invite to the NIT. They may have changed that, but I'm sticking to my original memory being correct at some point. :-)

You _may_ have to say you will accept a bid in order to be considered. I have no knowledge of the rules, but Wisconsin did announce that they would accept an NIT bid after it was obvious their bubble had burst. I had also heard about that time the UNC would not.
