It's over! Women's basketball will most likely fall into oblivion until March now.

I had no idea UCF was having such a nice start to their season. 14-0?

weird fact of the day: Marquette's Chris Otule <a href=""http://www.jsonline.com/sports/goldeneagles/112838019.html">only has one eye</a>. Really.

4 ranked teams going down to unranked conference opponents. Certainly an interesting development. I think it has to help San Diego St and BYU come tournament time when they have so few losses.

Surprised that Michigan was able to take Kansas to OT yesterday before falling short.

Maybe the worst basketball game ever. Granted, this could go both ways, but when you start doing the math of how many points Michigan could have had if they had even approached something awful like 25% from 3-pt range during regulation, they probably win easily.

Re: College Basketball 2010-11: Headin' for Houston

Seemed like Michigan was settling for 3-point attempts in OT rather than going to the rim. Also, their decision to play man defense in OT was puzzling, especially since playing zone was working in regulation.

Another close loss for Michigan tonight. Looking at their roster, they don't have ANY seniors and nobody is a threat to leave early next year. With two top 100 recruits coming in next year, should be UM's best team under Belein.

I'm totally pumped that a bunch of slow white kids that do nothing but stand around and brick 3-balls are all returning.

Florida State loses to an Auburn team last week that is probably the worst major-conference team in recent memory, and follows that up by beating Duke and snapping their 25 game winning streak.

Riiiight.

Fair enough. Nobody said you had to be pumped. Belein does what he does--and it usually works. I'd say Michigan will be an NCAA Tourney team next year.

Ha, well FSU has "owned" (I use that relatively) Duke at home in recent years.

Re: College Basketball 2010-11: Headin' for Houston

Really good games so far this week.

UM-Kansas went to OT. Ok, maybe this wasn't that good of a game to watch if you like anything involving skill or fundamentals, but it was still close.
MSU-Wisconsin. MSU comes back from 9 down in the last two minutes to win in OT.
FSU-Duke. Pretty obvious.
UM-OSU. Another close loss for UM. I don't understand them, ever since Belein took over they always make it close with the top 10 teams, but once they play the lower teams in the conference they are duds.

Tonight I'll probably catch some of the MSU-Iowa women's game on BigTenNetwork. Top two teams going by overall record, though MSU is 3-0 in conference and Iowa is 2-2. MSU's only loss this year is to Baylor.

From what little I follow of FSU basketball, it's one of those things that baffles the fans. They get decent talent for a school that is "meh" about basketball, and their defense is usually elite, but a decent chunk of the time, the coach and his offense are well, offensive.

They usually end up near the NCAA bubble if not in one of the last 10 or so at large spots, and I think they're pretty acceptive of that fact right now.
