Colgate 2024-25 Harder Hockey

Am watching on B1G+ PPV...

Andrew Takacs in goal for Colgate. John Seifarth making his second career start in goal for Penn State.

Penn State's Matt DiMarsico scored their first goal just 39 seconds in.
Penn State's Casey Aman scored their second goal just 1:53 into the game.
Nick Haas replaces Andrew Takacs in goal immediately.

Colgate penalty. Killed.
Seconds later, Brett Chorske redirects the puck into the net for a Colgate score (from Antonio Fernandez and Max Nagel).

Penn State's Dylan Lugris scored their third goal. Then Penn State challenges for a major penalty against Jack Brandt. Successful, with game misconduct. 6-2 PSU SOG.
Penn State PPG (by Dane Dowiak).
Penn State PPG (by Danny Dzhaniyev).

Another Colgate penalty. Under review for 2 or 5 minutes. Determined to be a two-minute penalty.
Both penalties expired. 13-3 PSU SOG.
Colgate penalty. Under review for 2 or 5 minutes. Major penalty and game misconduct against Ryan Spinale. 13-4 PSU SOG.

1:21 left on the major penalty to begin the second period.

Penn State 13, Colgate 4, SOG after one.
Penn State 5, Colgate 1, score after one.

I think we have them right where we want 'em.

Penn State penalty. Killed.
Penn State's J.J. Wiebusch with a redirect and goal.
Penn State's Charlie Cerrato with a beautifully set-up goal.

Penn State 25, Colgate 14, SOG after two.
Penn State 7, Colgate 1, score after two.

Penn State announcers saying that Daniel Panetta was injured tonight, but not sure what the injury is.

13:10 to go in regulation and Andrew Takacs replaces Nick Haas (after an unknown problem for Nick).

Penn State penalty. Killed.

Penn State 36, Colgate 23, SOG final.
Penn State 7, Colgate 1, score final.

After Wednesday's only game, Penn State PWR#30, Colgate PWR#31.

Happy Thanksgiving, y'all.

Happy Thanksgiving
Outshot and lose to a team that is winless in its own league. We rarely make a statement OOC. Takacs with 2.98gaa/.898sv. Writing is on the wall; looks like .500 hockey if we’re lucky. Would be great to recruit some talent in goal.

Get with the program, we have a five star goalie coming in next year !

I guess we played a turkey of a game yesterday.

Next up the Cornell home and home. Should be interesting.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

Albeit more subtly I questioned the scheduling of this match up a few posts ago. Four games in six days with the last two at a tough away rink. Not smart and last game “problems” not a total surprise. Time to regroup where a split against Cornell would be important.

Still wondering about the two majors in the first period, wth happened ? If anyone here watched the games can they please chime in, would be appreciated.

This week's ECAC Hockey PairWise Ranking (PWR) report for the 64 NCAA D-1 MIH teams prior to heading into Rivalry Weekend and the holidays...

27 - Clarkson, 28 - Union, 29 - Princeton, 32 - Harvard,

37 - Colgate, 40 - Brown,

51 - Rensselaer, 53 - Yale, 60- Saint Lawrence.

And PWR report for our non-conference opponents this year...

I wonder what Princetons PWR was before they swept Ohio State at home last weekend.
I hate to say it but we probably wouldn’t have gotten so much as a split if we played OSU at home.

Roll call...

Who is going to Colgate at Cornell at 7 p.m. on Friday?

Who is going to Cornell at Colgate at 7 p.m. on Saturday?

I plan to be at both games.

Iowa, will look for you in Ithaca tomorrow & see ya in Hammy on Saturday. Now if we could just get Shabby to leave the house...

For those that follow this thread, it should come as no surprise that I value PairWise Ranking (PWR) over any and all polls from October 1 onward.

So, tonight, after Ohio State’s 4-0 drubbing of Penn State, it should be noted that the current PWR ranking, even after last week’s sweep by PSU in Hockey Valley, is…

Colgate #36.
Penn State #38.

FYI...Penn State swept us, Ohio State beat Penn State, Princeton swept Ohio State, we beat Princeton. On any given night ! All wins were by the home team.

Shabby, if you lived in Massena, N.Y., I would still pick you up and drop you off. It would just mean that I would leave a little earlier and get home a little later. And I can sleep when I am dead. The offer still stands for this game and any home game. Heck, you can even join me for the North Country games later this season. Just lemme know.

Have fun at Lynah, Iowa and Gate83!! Cheer the boys on for me. I’ll be watching tonight and at the ‘65 tomorrow night. Go ‘gate!
