Colgate 2024-25 Harder Hockey

It appears that we are fairly deep with forwards. I'm rewatching last night's game right now and there's no real weaknesses. We just need to play Harder's system, which we are doing and stay disciplined. With Takacs playing the way he is now, this team can make some noise. One game at a time, play tonight like last night and a six point away weekend it will be.

Anyone know the extent of Panetta's injury ? Labelle has been out so long maybe they could redshirt him ? Two of our best forwards.

Andrew Takacs led Colgate onto the ice for tonight’s pregame warmup.
Mason Kucenski did the same for Saint Lawrence.

Saint Lawrence penalty (tripping). 0-3 SOG going in. Killed.

Saint Lawrence penalty (tripping). 3-5 SOG going in. Killed. 4-5 SOG coming out.

Colgate 7, Saint Lawrence 7, SOG after one.
Colgate 0, Saint Lawrence 0, score after one.

Saint Lawrence penalty (boarding). 9-8 SOG going in.

Beautiful Colgate PPG by Brett Chorske from Alex DiPaolo and Max Nagel.
Colgate’s Simone Dadie scored. Unassisted.
Saint Lawrence scored.
Colgate penalty (tripping). 18-17 SOG going in.

Colgate 18, Saint Lawrence 17, SOG after two.
Colgate 2, Saint Lawrence 1, score after two.

Penalty Killed.

But, seconds later, Colgate’s Owen Neuharth scored. From Robby Newton.

Colgate penalty (tripping). Killed.

Colgate’s Reid Irwin scored an easy fourth goal. From Robby Newton.

Colgate penalty (cross-checking). 3:06 remaining.

Empty net.
Colgate scores an ENG. Tommy Bergsland.
And it was actually a SHG.

Colgate’s Simone Dadie scored with 57 seconds left. From Jack Brandt and Nic Belpedio.

Saint Lawrence 36, Colgate 27, SOG final.
Colgate 6, Saint Lawrence 1, score final.

Damn, here we go… this is a tournament team right now the way they are playing. We are very solid on all ends and Harder has the boys rolling and playing his style. ECAC finals in Placid should be great if Gate continues to play this way.

I hate to say it but… there is a serious program changing future ahead. Fast skating goal scorers have to be open to this program next year in the portal. Go Raiders.

What a weekend!! It is hard to put into words how important this 6-point weekend was for Colgate… on the road. And you won’t hear me say anything more about last Saturday’s loss to Harvard at home. This more than made up for it.

Things were so crazy in the third period, especially late, that it was hard for me to keep up with things on here.

It was also exciting to see so many Colgate supporters at both Clarkson and Saint Lawrence this weekend. I recognized some from Colgate home games and assumed that some were parents. Ben Raymond’s father is one of the team’s most ardent supporters.

Go ‘gate!!

Alone in second place, only a point out of first, and 21st in the Pairwise. Hoping Punxsutawney Phil sees his shadow so that this wonderful winter will continue for a while longer!

A win in Friday's game against Union would solidify the team's league standing.

Everyone in ECAC Hockey has played 14 games, except Dartmouth and Harvard, who have played 15 games.
Quinnipiac is one point ahead of Colgate.
Union could tie Colgate this coming Friday with a win in regulation (3 points).
So, we really need a win in regulation to distance ourselves from them in ECAC Hockey standings.
It won’t be easy, but we can do it.
Andrew Takacs is on top of his game.
The offense is getting it done.
We were out-shot both nights in the North Country, so we still need to tighten things up in our own zone.
Hopefully Ryan Sullivan is okay after the injury at Clarkson.
Go ‘gate!

I will take any win against Union, and have any type of result in the north country. I am no so sure we can count on them after the last weekend but hoping that Clarkson can take aleast the regulation point from QU, and if SLU can do anything i will be ecstatic. I unfortunately will be missing the Union game due to work, but i am hoping to return to a happy Riggs rink on saturday after a win on friday.

Somewhat of a random question, but does anyone know of plans for the team to sell/Auction off game used jerseys anytime soon? They havent done so since, i think the bicentennial jerseys. I know that they are doing the rent a sweater thing, but so those of us who have bought in the past hopefully they do it again

I hope they sell all the away jerseys, they are ugly, that thing around the shoulders.
