On another note, Andy Mac had two goals and a shootout goal as St. Louis knocked off the Blue Jackets, 5-4 last night. Kyle Wilson played 8 minutes+ and had his SO attempt blocked. Wonder when was the last time two Raiders met each other on NHL ice? :) (Probably when Jesse met Andy, right?)

Also, any chance the league gives co-rookie or goalie of the week awards? Because I think that Weninger and Mihalik are equally deserving of the award. Not to take anything away from QU's goalies, but Mihalik and Weninger (sp?) participated in all three games and both are freshmen.

Still savoring here, too, shabby. Just speechless! There's something to be said for being the underdog and laying it all on the line.

Bought my tix today - hope we can make a game of it. The pk worries me more than anything, but what inspires me most is how we gain more momentum as the game progresses. I still think we can play with the best of them 5x5.

Will the band be there?

Random food for thought...

The last time Colgate made it to the ECAC Championships (in this case Albany in 2008), the Raiders defeated travel partners, St. Lawrence and Clarkson, back-to-back in the first round and quarterfinals. The second of those travel partners was the number one seed.

I don't put any stock into that but it's just an interesting note.

Ordered my tickets yest from the Gate ticket office. Sections M and L are between red and blue lines. K is just inside the blueline, J and I are getting near the goal line. Think we have 200 available only till Thurs am. Order now !

We have a goalie who's hot(must have in playoffs) confidence, we're getting balanced scoring, keeping our PIMS down, and the boys know they can win !! I think we're an extremely dangerous team right now. We lost 2-1 at home and could have won, were ahead after one 2-0 at Messa but lost. I see no reason why we can't pull this off !!!! I will be there !

I see less traffic on this thread now than I have all season! C'mon, guys! Our Red Raiders need our support! The will to believe is so powerful that it keeps us going all season; so does toppling the mighty and rising from the ashes. We have so much to be proud of and win or lose, it's how we play the game. The fact that we got here isn't amazing in it's own right, it's the fact that we never quit. I think 'Gate has more adversity than most ECAC teams in any given season, but you'd never know it when you watch them play.

I'm guessing there aren't many teams that can top the #4 team in the country on home ice - twice. We have a balanced offense, better defense than we did 4 months ago, and proof that we can beat ranked teams. Here's hoping for a great series sweep!

Regardless of what your opinion is of the coach, coaching staff or the players they ALL deserve an unbelievable amount of credit for what they've done the last 5 weeks. Beating #10 at the time, RPI. Beating #16 at the time, Dartmouth. Beating the other hot team in the ECAC, HARVARD, the same weekend as Dartmouth for their 1st sweep. Going to the Whale and tying the #2 ranked team in the country 1-1 the last week of the season. Then waltzing into RPI's house, the #15 team in the country, and wanting a series more than a team that really needed it to make the NCAA tournament.

One of the more gritty and persevering teams you will ever see.

I listened to the third game on WRPI Radio and it just sounded like Colgate wanted it more in the 2nd OT. Congrats. to you guys and good luck against Union. After the game, Coach Appert and Sr. forward Chase Polacek were interviewed on one of the TV Stations in Albany, and both were clearly shocked in my opinion.

For me, it's off to New Haven in the morning.
