Re: Climate Change 2: Thank God for Global Warming

Is it climate, weather, or too many people in too small of a watershed. You know: sustainable.

The NY Mag article I read didn't expose that issue well enough.
Southern California and Southern Nevada are especially "wrong ratio" when it come to people living in the watershed.

Was at the Minneapolis convention center today. A mining convention was also here. So the bars had a sign naming the local beers that do t support mining.
Bent paddle, surly, I forget the others.
I bought everyone a round if they agreed to drink one of the brands who doesn’t support mining . Sorry, I want to keep the boundary waters

Good call. From what I remember, Surly is tremendously overrated anyway.

hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

“Mr. Gore told CNN last year that he leads a “carbon-free lifestyle to the maximum extent possible,” pointing out that he doesn’t own a private jet and that he buys carbon offsets to balance his home and flights on Southwest Airlines.“.

“Mr. Trump told CNN last year that he leads a “pro diversity lifestyle to the maximum extent possible,” pointing out that he doesn’t own a slave and that he pays negros to balance his hotel and office staffs.”

C'mon dx, GrinC, if you're going to shoot the messenger, shoot the right messenger.

A study by Cornell and the University of Michigan researchers found that those “highly concerned” about climate change were less likely to engage in recycling and other eco-friendly behaviors than global-warming skeptics.

Re: Climate Change 2: Thank God for Global Warming

Well, if you had read the rest of the article you would realize that the word “similar” is not the same as “is equivalent to”. Sulfuric acid is used in many car batteries. Thus, you could say it’s similar. They didn’t say it was as harmful as battery acid.

CNN Fear mongering. Link is at the bottom of the tweet.

@angelafritz: Acid rain is rain that is higher in acidity on the PH scale (~-4). Acid rain is nowhere NEAR battery acid (0), like this story suggests. Not to mention Kilauea SO2 is concentrated at ground so rain won't be in the air long enough for a strong reaction. https://www.cnn.com/2018/05/09/us/hawaii-kilauea-volcano-acid-rain/index.html

I believe you meant to say Fox Fear Mongering?

Similar to battery acid

Such droplets turn into sulfuric acid, and have the corrosive properties of diluted battery acid.

Diluted battery acid, what the heck does mean. Diluted with an oceans worth of water? Or with a teaspoon of water? If you ever seen what battery acid does to steel, clothing or your eyes, I'll take acid rain
