Castleton vs. Norwich

Re: Castleton vs. Norwich

I agree that Norwich has a high speed attack and the smaller rink will favor Castleton. I don't claim to be an expert of any kind but I thought last years Norwich team was the best i've seen at the DIII level with an outstanding freshman class. However, in the two games I have watched them this year they just don't seem to have that "it" factor this year, I can't explain it. Castleton on the other hand, although less talented, is feisty and their hungry and they want it more than every team they have played this year. They dump it in and finish their checks and force you to 1 v 1 situations all over the rink.

Regardless of the result I think its great for the state of Vermont and even greater for the town or Rutland because its the first major game in our history in regard to college hockey. There were more Norwich and Middlebury fans at the Castleton games then their home crowd and now that they have had success the town has really gotten behind them in the way the Northfield and Middlebury have loyaly supported their teams. Its pretty cool to watch.

Re: Castleton vs. Norwich

anyone know about the availability of tickets for the game? Thinking about making a trip across the lake to watch the battle.....

If you do go, best to take 87 to exit 31 to Westport, 22 through Pt Henry, Cr Pt, Ti (left before Walmart to stay on 22) and then into Whitehall. Left onto US Rt4,You will run straight to Diamond Run Mall. A little under 2 hours from Plattsburgh.

Re: Castleton vs. Norwich

Having not seen either team play this season, I say Norwich dismantles Castleton...

but I doubt any of my armchair quaterbacking from Utah will factor into the outcome.

Re: Castleton vs. Norwich

Come on Norwich fans ... where the @#@#$%%$## are you ... Norwich still has 40 unsold tickets ... 40!
What the heck is with that?

Re: Castleton vs. Norwich

Suggestion ...
Load up a bus with 40 Cadets and send them to the game ...
What will that cost? ... $240 plus gas for the bus? ...
Worth the investment!

Re: Castleton vs. Norwich

I just watched the CSC News clip that was posted here, and I know that some people have mentioned that they think that CSC will loose the game tomorrow due to penalties, but did you see on the clip the Norwich player that SPEARS #5 from Castleton after the final goal and #5 was going to celebrate!?!?

I wonder why that was not sent to the league, spearing is a serious penalty especially after the game

haha great catch, you should be a 2ndliner for that one. I hope CSC wrecks every player from Norwich and sends them home in an ambulance, BAM! I would like to note that I don't think the Norwich guy actually speared the CSC player, looks like he just ran into his stick...but we will never know.

Prediction, Norwich forfeits to Castleton because while their fans and them were complaining about rink size, Castleton jumped out to an 8 goal lead and Norwich decided to go home earlier.

Puck Voice It was announced at last weekends games that limited tickets would be available for sale Wednesday at Kreitzberg Arena for the Castleton State game. I know quite a few fans made the trip to Rutland on Monday morning to purchase tickets so they were assured they had tickets for this important game. While I was purchasing tickets I know 40 tickets were sold to Norwich fans so no worries there will be a good fan base to support the Cadets! A bus full of Cadets would be great!

It wasn't sent because it would have been laughed out of the league offices. If you wanted to call it anything other than #5 running into the shaft of the stick, you'd be considered legally blind.

Now there is an intelligent post!
