Re: Castleton vs. Norwich
I agree that Norwich has a high speed attack and the smaller rink will favor Castleton. I don't claim to be an expert of any kind but I thought last years Norwich team was the best i've seen at the DIII level with an outstanding freshman class. However, in the two games I have watched them this year they just don't seem to have that "it" factor this year, I can't explain it. Castleton on the other hand, although less talented, is feisty and their hungry and they want it more than every team they have played this year. They dump it in and finish their checks and force you to 1 v 1 situations all over the rink.
Regardless of the result I think its great for the state of Vermont and even greater for the town or Rutland because its the first major game in our history in regard to college hockey. There were more Norwich and Middlebury fans at the Castleton games then their home crowd and now that they have had success the town has really gotten behind them in the way the Northfield and Middlebury have loyaly supported their teams. Its pretty cool to watch.
