CanHockGuy, I think the Buckeyes are going to be real good this season. Whether that translates into an NCAA Tournament berth or not remains to be seen. You are definitely correct, though, it's tough when you are in a league that has a bunch of good teams and normally produces a National Champion. The other side of that is if you want to be the best, you have to beat the best. It's going to be fun to see how the season plays out, and with the Women's Frozen Four being in Erie, PA, Mrs 86 and I are planning to make the trip, even if Ohio State isn't there. You never know when it is going to be that close (talking about proximity to where we live). We had the Men's Frozen Four here at Value City Arena in the 2004-05 season and I didn't get tickets (bad decision). I'm not going to do that again.

I'm obviously always pulling for my country in these competitions, but it sounds like Natalie Spooner is doing well and that's great. Looking forward to seeing her and the rest of my Buckeyes this season.

I love watching Spooner play. So much fun. I'm hoping I can make it up to Cbus for some games this year. I'm gonna miss being close enough to walk to the rink for games.

CanHockGuy, I think the Buckeyes are going to be real good this season. Whether that translates into an NCAA Tournament berth or not remains to be seen. You are definitely correct, though, it's tough when you are in a league that has a bunch of good teams and normally produces a National Champion. Does anybody else find it odd that the US has had Grogan start both games and she was not one the original two that were picked?

Nope wasn't there. Didn't need to be. Same old story. Of course the Americans didn't committ any infractions...at least not in Lake Placid.

Put the whistles away and let them play the way the game was intended to be played. No more of this mamby pamby crap.

Does anybody else find it odd that the US has had Grogan start both games and she was not one the original two that were picked?

Other US goalie reportedly has injured hamstring.

I understand that. If the two goalies picked are technically #1 & #2 and one gets hurt then #3 moves in. Why would #3 start the first two games especially since they lost game #1?

Because Grogan wasn't number three. Knapp was injured before camp, so she was replaced with Grogan. Grogan has national experience, winning a gold medal for the U18 team the inaugural tournament.

I understand that. If the two goalies picked are technically #1 & #2 and one gets hurt then #3 moves in. Why would #3 start the first two games especially since they lost game #1?

Rumor has it that Dahm was injured at camp and unable to go against Team Canada.
