Canada vs. USA - 2010 U18 and U22 Series

Re: Canada vs. USA - 2010 U18 and U22 Series

Hey OnMaa....Was it you that suggested Priceline and Hotwire? Just wanted to tell you that I tried it recently, and it worked like a charm. Saved lots of $. Thanks for the tip...if it was you. :)

Nope. IIRC the credit should go to Trillium.

I've never used the service, as I'd like to control my destiny location, specially when traveling with the spouse/family. :D

I am amazed at the amount of blame being placed on Digit. Some of the usual Digit haters are here to pounce as expected, but it seems like Digit is getting the lion's share of the blame here.

I'm certainly not a Digit hater and have no grudges against her as a person or as a coach. All I was saying that in these international competitions, especially where going in the teams are supposed to be fairly equal, it's the head coach that inevitably ends up getting most of the blame when his or her team underperforms relative to expectations. Fair or not, that's the nature of the business.

I agree and sorry to use your post as my quote. I was just trying to add my 2 cents.

We always use Priceline and Hotwire now, even with the whole family. We regularly stay in hotels far nicer than we would otherwise be willing to pay for, and still for less money than we would have had to spend for lesser accommodation--all in the same area. For example, this past weekend for $105 we stayed a 4 star big city hotel as posh I've ever stayed in (and I used to travel internationally as much as a couple weeks per month in the best hotels on a corporate tab). That price included complimentary vintage wine chits for the hotel bar, 24 hr hot and iced coffee service, wireless internet, robes, etc. The current price online for that hotel is $249. Even the going rate for the Days Inn in that area is more than $105, and would never stay there.

Ya, had a similar experience the last few days in a big city in the States. Get this, $75/night 4 star. We were about a mile from where we wanted to be. I was hesitant at first, not any more. Silly to do it any other way unless the carnival is in town. ;)
