The games were extremely close as were the calibre of players involved. The two teams created excitement and close competition because of their strengths and individual abilities. The USA had a little more offensive creativity and Canada showed more grit and determination. All goaltenders had a goal or two that they would have liked to have another crack at in each game. I think Canada had a slight edge in game management and stacked a line in the third and final game and seemed to change players and adjust as the game went on to counter the competition or succeed in a specific situation. USA shortened the benches early in each game and had specific players playing PP/PK time. The coaches on both teams they seemed to be in control and had different ways of managing the bench and game. The USA Head Coach was verbally involved and animated at times while the Canada Coach was quiet and controlled conversing opening on occasion. Assistants on both sides communicated well with players as they came to the bench. In the end, these games were just a chance to test the players and challenge the competition while getting an idea of who can play where and what needs work before the World event in January. Both teams need to improve special teams, attack, chip plays, neutral zone play, forcheck, d-zone play, line combos and get proper match-ups. Great Games that could have gone either way at any time...very close and exciting! The staffs will be challenged to put it all together and peak at the right time and hopefully it will be a USA-Canada Final for all the marbles in January once again! Well done to all players and staff members!
