Canada IS hockey

Re: Canada IS hockey

Yes...which makes all the Canadian flag waving all the more stupid [esp. since a significant % of the team is NOT Canadian..including their 2 best players]...

I really don't understand all the stupid Canadian flag waving [even in places like Toronto]...Did you ever see a Tampa fan wave the US flag when they won the Cup?? Doubtful. Winning a Cup is about your city, and your team...NOT your country. [well, that holds true in most places but not in Can-a duh I guess].

The Bruins have only two US-born players on their roster. And every single one of their forwards (save for David Krejci) are Canadian. Hmmmm

It's not like that here either sharpie, you just don't get it, and there is no sense explaining it to you. You're friends with Brooky, hmmmmmm. He must be so proud. Anyways, gotice and a few others above have it right. There will always be clowns that have to turn sporting events and whatnot into opportunities for violence. Happens everywhere unfortunately. I hope they punish them all severely, many people are coming forward with video evidence. Congratulations to Boston, they played a flawless game. Their Canadian boys pitched in also, I think. ;)

And they wouldn't have win without their goalie. Hum mm. Just saying. I it's silly to argue about but just thought it was funny how that was left out.

Canadian Visa Cardholders -
Top Spenders in U.S.

As Canadians continue to benefit from the Canada/U.S.
dollar, it is likely they will remain the top spenders in the
U.S. for 2011. According to the 2011 Tourism Outlook: USA
report, Canadian Visa cardholders were the top international
visitors to the U.S. in 2010. Last year Canadians contributed
$9.2 billion to the U.S. economy, up 18 per cent from 2009.
For the past two years, Canadian Visa cardholders have been
the number one contributor to the U.S.’s tourism economy:
• 2009: $7.8 billion
• 2010: $9.2 billion

Top 2010 Inbound Source Countries, Based on Visa Payment
Card Transactions:

• Canada: $9.2 billion
• United Kingdom: $2.5 billion
• Mexico: $2.0 billion
• Brazil: $1.9 billion
• Japan: $1.8 billion
• China: $1.1 billion
• Australia: $1.1 billion
• France: $1.0 billion
• South Korea: $824 million
• Germany: $800 million

Travelling to the U.S., Canadians used their cards primarily
in the areas of “remaining merchants” (ATMs, money
transfers and banking institutions); “other retail” (jewelry
stores, bookstores and specialty retail stores); and lodging.
Other top market segments, include:

Per cent
Growth
2010 2009 (+/-)
Remaining Merchants $1.7B $1.6B 9%
Other Retail $1.7B $1.4B 24%
Lodging $1.6B $1.4B 16%
Auto Rental $256M $232M 10%
Other Travel & Entertainment $303M $254M 19%
Steamships/Cruise lines $329M $256M 29%
Supermarkets $343M $279M 23%
Oil $407M $296M 38%
Airlines $480M $365M 32%
Restaurants $603M $527M 14%

As the economy steadily recovers and the use of digital
currency continues to play a significant role in the everyday
lives of travellers, Visa will continue to work with its partners
in the tourism industry to ensure that both residents and visitors
to the U.S. enjoy the benefits of electronic payments.

Not a hoser. Not a native Canuck either, so not sure where you suggest I belong.

Like to wish all my American friends a happy independence day tomorrow.

It is a well known fact that Canada is the biggest trading partner of the US. Has been for years, ever since I've lived in Canada. IIRC China is second on that list and Mexico third.
