That isn't my point and/or we're talking past each other. We know the RNC will lie, swift boat, and slander, it's what they've done ever since Atwater. Most voters know this and just ignore it (the teabaggers will believe anything the Echo Chamber tells them but they were always going to vote R anyway).
Hillary is uniquely vulnerable, however, in 2 ways. Firstly, she is naturally suspicious. She's shifty and people don't trust her. That's not anything the GOP did to her; it's her. Secondly, the email really is squirrelly and suspect behavior, and her reaction has been terrible.
If this were any other candidate in any other year they'd be written off as irreparably damaged. The negatives are piling up and she's not doing anything to get clear of them. She is becoming too risky.
If somehow her handlers figure out how to get her clear of it then her undeniable positives again get the upper hand. But so far it's been a death spiral, and closing your eyes tight and pretending it's not happening is not an effective strategy.
This is such a ludicrously terrible GOP field that we don't need an all star to beat them, we just need somebody who won't implode.
