The question isn't whether or not he supports him. The question is why does anyone support him.

The problem with that is every person who has ever met Cruz shares that opinion of him. The amazing thing is it has nothing to do with affiliation -- lefties hate him, righties hate him, and even the TPers who agree with him hate him. My god, Fundies hate him and they fall in love with anybody who would go Leviticus on our as-ses. According to Dr. Mrs. members of Cruz' own staff hate him, and Cruz hires people who are just like him -- i.e., among the most hated people in the country -- people who admire themselves and each other for their hatedness, considering it badge of honor... he's still hated.

He may just be the most loathsome person who has ever served in Congress. Just let those words sink in. That is a tough league.

That is a fantastic article.

I'm not a gambler at all, as I am obsessively risk averse. However, the political market seems like a smart bettor's dream as it is filled with bullsh-t "analysis" and bettors driven by ideology while self-limiting their information due to their prejudices.

Oh good Lord. Talk about a desperate media trying to generate a cat fight out of nothing. What's Cruz supposed to say: Trump is the perfect candidate and I have no idea why I'm running against him? :rolleyes:

Moving on, keep an eye on a change in the suck up wind blowing away from Rubio and towards Chris "Krispie Kreme" Christie from the political press. Politico has a headline about him "surging" in NH...all the way up to 12%...compared to Trump's 27%. Yeah.

Again, this is a snore fest. Let me know when Trump sends people to investigate Calgary Ted's birthplace and questions his dad's sanity.

May be. May be. But there was a Calgary Ted strategery in place that is now out the window. And I find that refreshing and interesting.

Nah I think its going according to script for him so far. IMHO he's playing the long game. Either Trump stumbles, in which case Cruz picks up the ball and runs with it, or Trump doesn't and Cruz realizes he can't compete with the man, so he wisely backs off but finishes a respectable 2nd, and then he comes back in 2020. Too many Goopers, from Jebbers! to Fiorina to Kasich, Christie, Paul, and Rubio are having an "I can't believe I'm losing to this guy" moment and they're panicking. Cruz and to a lesser extent Carson who I believe never expected to win anyway are the ones playing it cool.

No. The script was to NEVER criticize Trump and get his dander up. Let him implode. And become the obvious alternative. Now he's going to fighting with Trump cause Trump NEVER lets anything go. Anything.

I think Cruz is one of the few candidates who recognized early on that Trump might not implode. He needs to go Michael Corleone on his version of Fredo which is Ben Carson. He's the competition for the same voters right now.

All BS aside, its going to take a lot of heavy lifting for the GOP to win the WH given the demographics of the country and the electoral map. The RNC has to stop these behind the scenes shenanigans to throw the nomination to an Establishment stiff. Either the primaries count or they don't. They don't count only if you get the person you want. :rolleyes:

That may be true. But he had time to wait it out a bit. He could win Iowa over Trump without too much difficulty given that State's history and that would be enough to give Donald more time to fly off the deep end.
