I think if you followed the debate among them you'd see a healthy representation of your point of view, argued forcefully.
Purging moderates is counterproductive. So is vilifying purists. It takes both idealists and pragmatists to make a governing coalition.
But getting on a southern Dem's case in an election year for say siding with the NRA on some legislation that was never going to pass anyway is insane. For all their faults, no Dem Senator voted against the ACA, the most significant piece of liberal legislation in decades. That will most likely cost some of them their jobs. People who take the right vote no matter the political costs should be celebrated, not scorned.
