Business, Economics, and Taxes: Eat Cereal for Dinner

As someone who has been jerked around by insurance, good fucking riddance. The pain being felt by anyone close to him by this isn't enough to equal all the anguish and torment he put others through. The fact that the gunshot seems to be a "clean" kill is also a missed opportunity. Dude should have had to suffer for years as a result instead of dying and getting the easy way out.

Good riddance.

I’m reminded of a guy who, on our company intranet, commented on an article about our employee heath premiums going up along with our deductibles (because they gave us terrible insurance)

“damn usually I like to get taken to dinner before I get bent over and fucked up the ass”

The same conference they tried starting again?

All I heard was it was cancelled. No idea. This person would have been logistics, not an exec who had the power to decide to cancel or not.

im all for eating the rich. 20 something’s starting their career who are lower level aren’t going to get my ire today

Assassin used a silencer and an e-bike as his getaway vehicle. So he’s a thoughtful person who wanted innocent people to not suffer hearing loss and he’s environmentally conscious.

I like this guy.

Whatever clothes he ditched has undoubtedly been recycled already, too. Someone at penn station probably already wearing it

CNN says Brian was getting divorced. Still guessing it’s disgruntled member or employee

people underestimate how many have lost jobs from uhc and optum last few years. They always manage to keep it quiet and it’s insane

I have probably spent 4+ hours a week, uncompensated, arguing with insurance "doctors" to get my patients standard of care. I would bet the suspect list is quite long but would bet on someone who has been denied life saving care in a purely profit motivated way.

United is one of the worst. AI will auto deny. I write a letter of medical necessity, get denied. Request "peer" to peer. For the record, I rarely talk to a doctor who has the same primary board as myself and I have never talked to someone who holds my subspecialty board. I try to embarrass them, shame them, make them feel they will personally get sued.

My favorite things to say: "Can I ask what you are boarded in so I know what level of explanation I need to use to talk about this rare disorder?" "Can I get your full name and NPI so I can be sure to accurately document in my medical record who is practicing medicine on my patient in case of lawsuit?" "As I am sure you and your company are aware of current literature, do you have a process of updating standards to be up to date with the 21st century of medicine?" "I am happy this is being recorded, and I do encourage you to release our conversation to the public to see who they side with."

One of my mentors in Cleveland would use the line "You are only denying care because this patient is black." I have not used that yet.

The suspect list is long.

The potential jury pool is pretty shallow.

The company I work for has had a large influx of people from there the last few years. The ones I talked to today are shocked, SHOCKED. Well, not that shocked.

Now do a post on the absurd & exorbitant costs & pricing system of the fascist health care system that is subsidized and protected by the State? And how many that has killed or bankrupted.
