I love that there was all of this handwringing yesterday that Nvidia was going to tank the markets (despite having like huge numbers in their earnings call) and yet everything is surging. I could have sworn the "Recession Mongers" were about to commit ritualistic suicide about how bad it was going to get...and yet, once again, Tim Walz Economic Recovery just keeps trucking along.

Trump is going to lose his chit in 3 weeks when the Fed cuts a quarter point off the interest rates. He will probably murder someone when they do it again in October!

Well CNBC also said all the markets could dive today because of Nvidia so they can suck my...well you get the idea.

I have seen a possible half point cut but with how slow Powell has been to make a move and with a recession highly highly unlikely (now I believe the "experts" think it might hit in Spring...riiiiiight) I think they take a measured approach in September. October though they could do it which would mean Trump might burn down the Heinz Factory he would be so mad. That is a much better October Surprise than anything they can do. (RFK was going to be the October Surprise...oops!)

I once worked with someone who's father was a USDA food inspector. He specialized in the meat industry. Trust me, you never want to know what they are allowed to pass...

My wife has a good friend who's whole career has been in the food QA field, and is now a QA Director for a major food manufacturer. Ditto my comment above.

Look at it this way, we survived as cavemen having no idea what was supposed to be good for us. We are a lot better off now despite what I just wrote.
 
Oh I'm aware. My old company did work for a deli meat company. Every time someone came back they didn't eat meat for a couple weeks.
 
So Mark Cunan put up a poll on X...there was 804k votes, but only 656k engagements. That is not how things work...
 
Raise chickens, dispatch them, pluck them, gut them and freeze whole or parts and you won't eat chicken for weeks. The smell isn't pleasant. Pigs, Sheep, Goats and lambs aren't nearly as bad but still still not a lot of fun. Now multiply that by millions.
