Point of order here.

Musk laid off north of 75% of Twitter staff. Frankly it's remarkable it still even vaguely functions.

The other problem is he forgot (or never learned) the cardinal rule of content creation and sales...you make your product for what the audience wants not what you (and by extension your fanboys) want. Twitter was always a rather seedy place but at least if you knew where to avoid looking you could have a pleasant time getting important information. It was a one stop shop for entertainment information, gossip and local/world news. He decided the comments under the news was more important and made sure that was the most seen stuff. (the meaner or angrier the more you saw it) The result is now Twitter is all commenters with nothing real to comment on.

Why did it work for Fox News but not Twitter? It seems like the same model: you create a septic tank for those turds to bathe in their own excretions. They love it because they only smell their own body odor reflected back on them as "normal," and they escape the real world's revulsion towards and laughter at them.

Fox needs the old people’s eyes to be on their channel - passive. Twitter needs people to actively engage, and requires users of relatively current computer tech, which overwhelms the majority of Fox’s core audience. And Twitter’s majority of users at the time of purchase were not Fox consumers. Everything about Elmo’s plan was bad from the word Go.

Fox doesn't even need advertisers. Carriage fees make up a massive chunk of revenue.

If reddit is any indication there are millions of fasc scum who are social media literate.

Bankrupt, unlikely. Strip them to the studs, yes.

But, that would require Comcast and the other big guys to bump them from basic to premium.

My question is can they survive without being parasites off our fees? If all of us who oppose the fasc pulled the plug on everything giving them a revenue stream, and forced them to survive solely on collecting from their prisoner population, would they stay afloat? Remember: 74M people voted for Dump.

And they already have other outlets for their vitriol. Fox News Entertainment was the forefront on TV. Twitter is the Johnny-Come-Lately to fascist social media, and it would take one of the others in that realm to have major issues for that group to migrate, similar to how Fox has had some missteps that have lead to Newsmax making some gains in Fascist TV.

Yes they can. It's called Newsmax. Watch five minutes and you'll understand how important basic cable carriage fees are in terms of presentation quality.

Newsmax looks like a high school AV club in terms of quality.

I believe that capitalism, while flawed, is an efficient economic system that fosters innovation and competition. However, it is crucial to ensure that businesses operate ethically and pay their fair share of taxes. In today's digital age, cryptocurrencies have emerged as an alternative form of currency. With the growing popularity of crypto transactions, it is imperative for governments to regulate this sector appropriately. Implementing a crypto license framework would provide clarity and protection for investors while also enabling the collection of taxes on these transactions. As the crypto market continues to expand, a well-regulated industry will help create a level playing field and maintain the integrity of our economic system.

How do you feel about AI and bots being forced to pay taxes?

Are these things just released into the wild to propagate, like John Conway's Game of Life? Have they evolved through code mutation? Or are they piloted in by trolls?

Recent research has shown that empirical evidence for globalization of corporate innovation is very limited and as a corollary the market for technologies is shrinking. As a world leader, it's important for America to provide systematic research grants for our scientists. I believe strongly there will always be a need for us to have a well-articulated innovation policy with emphasis on human resource development. Thank you.

If we all cut the cord do they bankrupt?

Not really. Ad-funded free streaming services (Samsung TV+, PlutoTV, etc) carry the right wing channels and likely throw a few bucks their way.

DirecTV also carries the alt-Right networks, so your local bar showing all sports, all the time, is unknowingly supporting them.

Fox charges a bit over $2 a subscriber. The top six cable and satellite companies have about 70 million subscribers.

that about 450 million per quarter. Or a third of their total revenue.

edit: shit, never mind. That $1.5 billion isn't just for Fox News. It includes all of fox's other channels. So 450 million is a huge portion of Fox News' revenue.

edit 2: fox's entire cable channel collection earns about $1B in carriage fees. Fox is 45%+ of that.
